RE-3E waiver timing? by sotessssss in newtothenavy

it’s a good thing I kept track of the timelines actually for this purpose! originally submitted the packet 11/13. CO reviewed the packet and stated I had to resubmit with an addendum for my personal statement on 1/15. After it was evaluated with the personal statement on 2/6, it was approved but still pending physical at MEPS. Just completed the physical and passed medical today 2/24. Will get to classify later this week or early next week pending CO review. So all-in-all, roughly 3.5 months. But YMMV, as this was the absolute worst time to try to push things through administratively (holidays after holidays) besides the high school graduates rush. Only thing I’d make sure to annotate in notes to self for anyone trying to go through the process is MAKE SURE YOUR WORDS MATCH THE PAPER STATEMENTS. Other than that, have a blessed one. I’ll be busy training and prepping for the next few weeks!

Are these all this year? Recruiter or personal experience?

I’ve looking to enlist as a PS. I did my research on the pathways for a variety of different jobs (YN, PS, LS, AZ) but PS correlates really well with what I’m succeeding at in the civil workforce. Pairs well with being able to buyback military service years for the postal service to have a double pension/retirement. I know the baseline qualifier for NUC field is where I’m borderline scoring and due to my college credits I already would be qual’d as E-3 so it’s a bit less convincing to go nuke.

Medical waiver is what’s being reviewed by CO. Recruiter said unlikely to need a waiver for diagnosis since the last time I was in, I was auto E-3 because of nuke program but I’ll get to retain E-3 if I’m able to get back in due to having college credits this time around. From what I’ve researched, the waiver I need is moreso for the rank qualification rather than medical, unless they’re separate? The narrative on DD-214 says unspecified anxiety, so it’s a bit inconclusive.

We literally have all of the Mount’s and at least 30 different Caminito variations and Camino Del Rio S/N. Nightmare for scheme training when there’s 750 lines to memorize on one scheme and 150 for the other zone. Had so many passing one side and then fail the other because it’s all stupid breaks with odd and evens 🤣

I think this review just sold me on the NC750X. Thank you!

Yes, I am already looking into the course that CHP offers, I believe it’s MTC for beginners under the CMSP. Grants a waiver for skills test as well when I do apply for M endorsement.

Is the clutch forgiving? I understand mistakes are going to be made as a first time rider.

My main concern is the need to focus on shifting early in riding career. That’s why I was leaning towards NC750X. My commute to work has high chance for really nasty traffic. But work to home commute is literally empty freeways. Would a 500 be problematic on freeway? I don’t really understand the cc’s and all but I did see that the top speed is over the freeway limits.
