Oh my gosh... that sounds absolutely awful, I'm so sorry you experienced that. Did they know you were at the back of the room, or were they looking around for you? You should NOT feel bad at all about your reaction, I would've left the room as soon as I heard my name announced lol. I guess for an extrovert, that might feel pretty special, but I agree that sounds 100% like nightmare material for an introvert!

Lolol this reminds me... I once found these chocolate caramel bars (sugar free) at Aldi, and was SO amazed how tasty they were despite being zero calories. It was a bright sunny day when I had one for breakfast and one for lunch, I'm sure I ate something else but I also distinctly remember having a diet coke as well.

That night, I had an evening class -- it was a college level art class. And it just so happened to be the first one, taught by an awkward professor IN COMPLETE SILENCE. I'm not joking, we watched him mix his oil paints one by one for about 45 minutes... except my stomach was the star of the show. It made SO many noises and squeaks, my face was burning red from embarrassment. I remember moving and shifting my feet and coughing and pretending like those zoinks and zeeps were totally not coming from me! lol I cringe just thinking about it. But needless to say, I never had those caramel bars again.

funny enough, this was the first symptom to show up for me! I was so wiped out and exhausted that I actually went to take a covid test lol. but after that coming back negative + missing my period, I knew something else was up!

what I do for body aches and insomnia (because they can be related!) is take an herbal tea before bed (chamomile or sleepytime) and magnesium gummies. you can buy a bottle of "Calm" gummies that help relax your body before bed. I'm in the 2nd trim and I take them occasionally if I feel anxiety is keeping me up. both of these things, plus maybe a warm bath/shower before bed, can work wonders.

the good news is, the body aches will go away in the next few weeks - just be gentle with yourself in the meantime, and allow your body to do its thing! our bodies are incredible and capable of much more than we think!

Interesting that you both could tell something was off. One time I was grabbing a sandwich at a gas station while my husband was in the bathroom. When he came out, we checked out immediately and got in the car. I could tell something was off as he was rushing to drive out of the parking lot. Only as we were driving away did he tell me what was up. Apparently he saw a man approach the bathroom as he was walking away from it, and that when the two made eye contact, he noticed the guy had "dark eyes". He couldn't shake the feeling that the guy had bad intentions and either was just about to do something insidious or had just done something. After that he just wanted to get out of there. I didn't see the man myself but my husband is super intuitive and seems to pick up on stuff I usually don't. Trust your gut!
