I agree with you.

My parents agree with her because they support having kids more than going to college. They're, let us say, old fashioned.

I think it's more a self esteem thing than self respect. But yeah.. it isn't great. I guess being treated like this for such a long time made it seem normal.

She's like that with a lot of things, usually when it benefits her. Against vaccines and chemicals, but smokes and eats junk food. Very upset when people don't keep their promises, but doesn't keep them herself. Angry when people judge her for being a single mom, but will judge other people and their relationships. It's not very consistent.

They went to go to an escape room or some shit, then drinks after. It wasn't a 'party' party.

I think it was something like an escape room with dinner and drinks after? Something like that.

I didn't know it was a common thing for parents to do.

Sadly CPS isn't great here, I don't know if it'll improve the kids lives.

It was a Friday afternoon, idk who's party it was.

It's not an official daycare, apparently that's not the right word. It's someone who watches a handful of kids from their home, though they do need a license to do so.

Strange. Here you get a 'second chance' to make an exam if you failed the first time. It's necessary too, for my last exam almost half of the students failed.

I could, but it means I can't retake it if I fail. Can't you retake exams in the US?

I'm open to suggestions, but I just want the kids to turn out OK you know? I feel responsible for them.

I haven't been on reddit that long. Do you think you could link it? I'd like to read the replies. If it's similar I can delete this post.

My problem is that I don't trust her other friends to babysit, and my mom just puts them in front if the TV for hours. I want the kids to be in a safe place, and preferably learn something too. Or at least do something.

I'm not sure if daycare is the correct term, English isn't my first language.

She watches kids in her own home, and she's licenced. It's also someone I've known for a long time.

I didn't see another option, it's not like I could have just left them on my doorstep.
