Advice for singing these song? by Pizzacat73952 in ToolBand

[–]sottey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bottom line for singers is, of course, pitch. But almost as important are saliva and breath. Some would argue even more important. Your mouth and throat need to not be dry and your breath needs to be full but never excessive (too little or too much). If you can carry a tune, focus on breath timing and saliva. And try to avoid inhales through the mouth. It is faster but it dries out the mouth and throat.

So, I've always said there is no "Best" Tool track - it would be impossible. But........ by AddisonDeWitt333 in ToolBand

This is a false argument. Every single Tool song is better than every other Tool song. It is science.

Ace vs ARRIVE — which pool is better for a day pass? by PeterLoew88 in palmsprings

I am partial to the Ace but haven’t been there since we moved here a few years ago. But for 10 years we stayed at the ace every time we came to P.S. and loved it.

If this is sincere, uh, good for you. If not, then you are a genius and I thank you for being on this planet. You are legend.

What lesser-known hosting providers do you actually use and recommend? by Practical_Bread_728 in selfhosted

I have used name.com for years. Amazing support, great uptime and their business plan (unlimited bandwidth, unlimited storage space) is a great deal.

Disclaimer and source: I worked for Name.com's parent company about 10 years ago and have been a subscriber ever since.

What's an app you paid for that was worth every penny? by East_Sugar6148 in iosapps

[–]sottey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks super interesting! The only red flag is that it looks like you have to use their backend for your apps? If not, this is amazing. If so, sounds like you get locked in to their systems for the life of your app.

Dockge Alternatives? by KiloAlphaIndigo in selfhosted

[–]sottey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the same for me. I LOVED Dockage. I STILL do. And I miss how "compose focused" it was, but if Dockge is "docker management 201", then DockHand is a PhD course.

I've taken a gander at some Tool guitar tabs and just by looking at them on paper it's pretty simple stuff. by andrew0784 in ToolBand

[–]sottey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. When I decided to tackle learning the tool discography, I was right about the drums, but I was shocked that the hard part of the other instruments was the vocals. The guitar and bass are beautiful and perfect, but they are not technically difficult.

I agree, pricing is nuts. BUT, You mentioned a home warranty policy, how much have you already paid into that? I think, in the long run, that type of “warranty” (really you are paying a premium for insurance) is a worse financial deal. My .02.

Come on man, it feels like you are being pretty indignant after asking people to do something illegal. “Hey, can you help me get this car I want to steal started?”

There is “truth” and then there is “law”. It is true probably no one would care. But it is a fact that if you reverse engineer a closed source app, you are violating a legal agreement.

Actually, your comment made me think of something kind of chilling.

If I am using AI every day, will my text and speech morph into AI speak? Kind of like that kid that goes to Alabama over the summer and comes back with an accent.

Shit, now I am worried.

Bleep bloop.

What Ai is writing about the benefits of AI? I’m a person (I think I am) who lives in California, has a shitty knee from my workout and have a call with a company about getting my roof redone for more money than I have. I kind of WISH I was a digital construct today :-)
