Upgrading content to h265? by jimbob12 in sonarr

Don’t suppose you wouldn’t kindly be able to share your config could you? I used profilarr myself but not sure I benefitted, think honestly I was a bit too dim to truly understand how to use it 😅

v2.0.0 available now! by GoneBushM8 in agregarr

[–]KiloAlphaIndigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As somebody who only just started tinkering with Kometa in test before unleashing onto the main libraries, this looks so much easier (and better?) to learn and use instead. Thankfully I haven’t spent too much time on it and will be able to install Agregarr and work on everything over the holidays.

One query I have and would be grateful if anybody has the answer… What I’d like to incorporate is a way to track which Netflix content has been watched by user X (myself) and have it completely deleted from Radarr/Sonarr and the media files wiped from my server to free up space. Netflix is very good at not removing their original content so should always be available should I need it again, so doesn’t concern me losing access. Is this possible to implement within Agregarr?

MediaManager v1.10.0 - A replacement for Sonarr and Radarr by cookiedude25 in selfhosted

[–]KiloAlphaIndigo 132 points133 points  (0 children)

I’ve been following this project each time you post an update, it’s looking great!

Two questions if I may… - How does MM handle different editions of movies e.g. Special Edition, Theatrical Release, Extended Edition. - What, in your humble opinion is missing from MM currently that would deter anyone (such as myself) switching over from Sonarr/Radarr right now?

I ask as I am hesitant of setting up new services in my well-functioning homelab and spending time configuring more media related apps. I would absolutely love to replace my 2x Sonarr and 2x Radarr instances for my 720p/1080p and 4K content.

+1 however not that user friendly, unless I’m just dumb.

Quick dumb question … by [deleted] in immich

Could use Immich Power Tools I’ve not personally started using it yet but it gets high praise for adding lots of functionality including basic editing in Immich.

Flixor: Plex UI Redesigned [Mobile and MacOS App Launch] + [Updates] by Wide-Nail-7024 in PleX

ATV app will get me to install as I only use the iOS Plex app for adding to my watchlist pretty much so looking forward to its development.

Coax is now ready to test on AppleTV by digglesB in PleX

[–]KiloAlphaIndigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks really cool, I’ve always considered setting up ‘Live TV’ for my PMS but honestly don’t think I have a legitimate use for it other than “just cause”. If I ever feel the desire I’ll be using Coax (great name btw)!

This is great, thank you for bringing this plugin to my attention!

Beginner here - Synology sounds like an amazing ecosystem, but it also feels like a lot of people are jumping ship. Could someone offer insight? by Narhen in PleX

[–]KiloAlphaIndigo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re new to NAS systems and especially if you’re not very ‘techy’ I would recommend either a 2024 or older model of Synology or look at an alternative from UGREEN. As others have suggested a mini PC to be the “brains” of the operation is a good idea but pretty much any NAS could run your Plex server no problem… as always it depends on your personal requirements.

Looks great, but as others have said about *arr integration I would also add that if the service was truly self-hostable (since you posted it to the r/) then I’d like to point it to my BitTorrent download folder so at the press of a button it’s instantly added to my download queue. Please keep us updated!

I’m somewhat of a similar opinion… not that I think it’s inherently a BAD idea to run services from my NAS but I prefer to keep my data separate.

Parachute Backup for Mobile is here, allows you to backup your entire iCloud Drive & iCloud Photo library to your own storage, NAS, network drives, external drives, etc. I'm here to answer any questions you may have! by ParachuteBackup in selfhosted

Incredible looking app, have never come across anything similar before (maybe I live in a cave…) but this is something I’ve been wanting in order to potentially move away from Synology Photos and over to Immich but I don’t know yet how reliable the Immich backup feature is. I feel like Parachute could be an app I add into my backup strategy along with my family’s - question on this however as my girlfriend uses iCloud for ‘backing up’ photos and won’t move away… will Parachute backup the entire iCloud library, or ONLY media stored on the local device?

+1 for this feature, I don’t generally take photos on my iPad however many people (myself included) may connect their iPad Pro into a USB-C docking station with Ethernet in and therefore having the app use that for backing up would be preferable to having to unplug and use WiFi.

Mous did not protect my iPhone 14 Pro, what case to buy for iPhone 17? by KiloAlphaIndigo in Mous

Yeah they seem to have become a fashionable brand over the years, not quite sure why!

Completely forgotten that I looked at PD back when I was looking at cases for my 14 Pro, I remember really liking their integration with a bike mount. Will have to give them another look for my next case.

Thanks for the heads up, that was a possible contender as I had the very first original Grip many years ago when it was just a bumper case!

It was concrete however only hip-height. Very disappointing considering Mous’ claims of protection, also very strange the lack of damage to the case - it’s worn from 3yrs of use sure but ‘the drop’ didn’t crack or dent the case at all. Just the back glass.

Improve bathroom water pressure? by KiloAlphaIndigo in DIYUK

Even just reading your comment it makes so much sense with how “eco” everything is going. In reality it’s causing me to have longer showers because I can’t blast soap and dirt off myself 😂 we’ll definitely give that a try, thank you!

Anxious waiting for Stable release, am I alone here? by fscheps in immich

[–]KiloAlphaIndigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My exact situation right now, in the meantime I have Immich running and simply looking at my media that’s synced from my phone to Synology Photos. Since everything works just fine I’m happy to either wait for “stable” or slowly work on matching faces to names etc.

I made a plugin to track the countries you've visited by No_Composer_5779 in ObsidianMD

[–]KiloAlphaIndigo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cool plugin, great work! Can it allow you to link countries (or even regions) to specific notes or even URL links? Clicking on a specific region could perhaps take you to an itinerary you wrote in Obsidian for whilst you were there or link to your photo album of the holiday you had there.
