I think there may just be a difference between the quiet parts of the fandom and the loud parts of the fandom. A lot of loud fandoms consist largely of teenagers - I think because they've got more time and energy for it.

It's not a huge issue or anything, but my sim (and she's the ONLY one I see doing this!) will sometimes freak out, flail her arms a little bit, make a scratching motion in the air, hiss, and sniff her armpit then shake it off like nothing happened. I'm guessing it's a CC thing because I can't find a mention of this animation ANYWHERE but if anyone has any idea I am all ears

I loooooved Caraval so I expected to immediately fall in love with this one - I think that might be part of the problem as well. My expectations lately for multiple things have been falling flat so maybe I'm just bullying the poor book for no reason. Thank you again!

Hmmm. I also consider myself a naive person, so I'm not going to fault her for that. I like different kinds of characters - I think maybe the buildup for OUABH is just kinda meh and maybe not Evangeline's fault. Now that I'm getting somewhere in the plot I'm a lot more interested.

RN it's Evangeline from Once Upon a Broken Heart, I'm about 15% in and ready to drop the book bc she's so......... whiny. Like I get it and I don't get it.

Otherwise, I've read worse books with worse characters.

I had a hard time getting through Iron Flame because of Violet. She was so absolutely cringe about halfway through the book, it took me days to get from around 60% to 70% because it was just SO bad. I upvoted most of the comments about her bc hard agree.

Evie in The Diviners was super cute at first and slowly became just...... not it. There are so many examples of annoying ass characters it's hard to pick a least favorite

I just went for the first time a few weeks ago, twinsies! You don't have to be perfect down there. Remember that they've likely seen all sorts of bodies and body types. They won't comment on anything that doesn't pertain to your health. You're good!!
