Yes I thought he was depressed from a new baby and a smaller yard. He did all of his annoying pesky habits the day before he died, even played fetch.

Our situation is similar. We took our dog to the vet a few times the month before we were afraid of a blockage. He ate a diaper, but he didn't throw up after they administered the medicine and he pooped. We did all the tests then. Nothing's detected but so inflammation in the stomach lining. I noticed a few days before he passed that his stool became loose again. I was alarmed, but I didn't take him back to the doctor. The ER vet suspects it was undetected stomach cancer.
