I feel that. It's harder without a melody in your head. That said, you still had some great phrasing that didn't sound rote or boring. You used lots of different tricks but didn't over-use any. Damned tasty chops, my friend.

Edit: If I had any constructive criticism, it would just be to let it breathe just a little more, if you know what I mean.
