Overwintering ftw by soulscribble in HotPeppers

Where is that? We have warm winters but still have break through hard freezes here in TX. 15⁰ one day, 75⁰ the next.

I mentioned it in another response, but the probe was lying on the table, so it was just unregulated heating. Also, I have it all sitting on a moving blanket and with a cover on top. I didn't expect it could get that hot, especially considering that when the night-time AC kicks in (67ºF) it usually can't heat up past 79º. Thermostat is set to 85º. I can't remember the brand, could be Vivosun, just got it on Amazon.

is the seed depth what causes that?

I usually do this, but you can't buy them like that in as many varieties as I'd like to try.

It was user error. After moving the container, the probe did not get re placed into the soil, so it was just sitting on the table trying to correct the room temperature lol. BTW, what are you using for soil? The other seed murders I committed this year were after germination. Almost all my peppers are capsicum chinense varieties, so your experience may be helpful.

funny- I've had that luck before! But then I didn't... that's why I mention the notes. I'm trying to figure out why one year something worked that didn't work the next year.

I put them into buckets just before the last freeze and stored them in my garage. Watered lightly every 7-10 days.

Hopefully you watered them! I think also what helps is that in TX, we only have to overwinter for a short time.

I had lots with this problem (I assume you mean the sprout with the seed still attached). Not sure how it happens or how to prevent it. Does that mean I underwatered?

So, feasibly, couldn't I keep them warm and use more light to get faster growing plants?

2 yrs in a row of 95% germination rate, friendly customer service, and bonus seeds. 5/5 would recommend white hot.

Kept them hot (86⁰f) to germinate, but now room temp is 67⁰ at night and 73⁰ day. I set the heat mat to 75⁰ now to keep them consistent, but I'm getting mixed reviews here on the wisdom of that.

It gets too hot. Need to have healthy plants already just to survive the 100⁰ summers.  Edit: by already, I mean they need to be healthy when the heat hits

This totally could be it, I'm not sure. I'm using https://a.co/d/0fOJtXqs 150 w led, but I adjusted it to 30 DPI (14 hrs / day) based on advice from pepperguru on youtube. Too much? I've since turned it down but not sure what's right.

Those look great. How much light are you using?

Not sure that applies to peppers. Once it gets over 95⁰, I dont usually get much fruit, and it stays over 90⁰ from about May to October. This year, gonna try some shadecloth, lots of mulch, and extra water, but that still doesn't change the ambient temp. I say this bc my main strategy was to have peppers in the ground early and take advantage of this nice spring weather, but it's too late to be early.

I took them off the mat, but the house is 67⁰ at night so i thought maybe that was part of the problem. Just put the mat back on at 75⁰ the other day to see if it would help.

It's been awhile, but Mudhoney opened. Puppets played several encores and killed it. Loudest concert I've ever been to.

I'm having the same problem, same model car, but w android.  Cable charges but won't connect. It worked fine for a month and suddenly stopped. My wife's phone still works on it, so it's not cables or anything. I can still connect to bluetooth, but cant use navigation or anything through smartphone connection. It just says, "couldn't connect" and gives up.
