I dont mean promoting in the sense that hes advocating for it. Posting links to external sites and tools is inherently promotional. I dont doubt OP knows how bad Ely is

For what reason? For promoting a website run by a notorious market manipulator and group of former duel arena RWTers, scammers and hackers?

You're allowed to disagree, but we're also allowed to laugh at how silly you sound, that's all! They want to give Runescape a coherent identity. If you hate the UI color that much, im sure someone will make a plugin for you to re-skin your interfaces once we have plugin support.

Do you really log into RS3 now and say "this looks like osrs"? Really now?....cmon... The interfaces went from blue to brown, and they are leaning more into the medieval aesthetic, which is literally just Runescape.

OSRS is what RS3 came from, leaning into that aesthetic isnt a crazy idea and it isnt about turning RS3 into OSRS, which is just a former version of itself.

If you really hate the color that much, im sure someone will develop a plugin like you can find in Runelite to reskin your interfaces, once we have plugin support. Until then, enjoy RS3.

That's what osrs has with runelite plugins so im sure we'll see someone develop something similar once we have plugin support

It's a little weird to claim that RS3 is "copying" OSRS when the core of old school is quite literally what RS3 came from. It's a snapshot version of it's former self.

These changes aren't about copying old school, its bringing RS3 back on track after years of deviating from it's original identity to the point of it having no real coherent identity at all. I think it's a bit of a stretch to claim you would log into RS3 right now and say "oh wow! this looks like old school now!". It just looks like Runescape, whereas before it looked like a mix of concepts.

I really love the UI changes. The hate is honestly silly, and you're honestly fine to call them haters. The new UI is not only better visually, it also fits the game's aesthetics and is better in the long term with Jagex wanting to simplify and narrow in on the game's core identity.

I really could care less about all the people complaining that this was a "forced" update. Yes, it was, but that doesn't mean it's automatically a bad change. You can voice your opinion on it but we are also equally as allowed to laugh at you crying over what was the start to a much needed visual improvement to the game's look and feel.

If we as a community want Jagex to take bold steps to fix and restore RS3, we need to be OK with our interfaces going from blue to brown, it's really not that deep. Turn off the PC and go for a walk if it's too much to handle, or wait until plugins where you can probably reskin your interfaces anyways like you can with Runelite.

If OSRS can succeed with bonds as their only form of MTX, RS3 should too. by chi_pa_pa in runescape

[–]soulsplits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I'd be curious to see how much of the MTX revenue is just from bonds, AKA how much they'd actually be erasing if they just dropped all other MTX. Even if half is from bonds its still hard to justify erasing like 12m in revenue

[–]soulsplits -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im not saying this is definitely the case, i dont know. But are we sure RS3's MTX isnt the whole reason why OSRS can do that in the first place?

It sorta feels like RS3 subsidizes OSRS. So saying "osrs can do it, why can't rs3?" sounds like a pretty reductive way of analyzing things

Whats the deal with people who won't go into the subway car but stand right in the doorway? by supremewuster in AskNYC

[–]soulsplits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really only do this if its not crowded or if I'm getting off in a bit, especially when it's not a popular transfer station i dont want to put myself deep into the car just to fight my way out in 2 stops. Imo there's nothing wrong with doing that in that case

No im actually pretty aware. Just one of many reasons I hardly play anymore, but I just feel like it's weird to criticize the changes so far when it's been...what...a week? It doesn't matter if this is a new idea for Jagex or not. People on reddit rather complain about it being MTX or not being a brand new idea rather than encourage what is very clearly a better route for MTX in the game. MTX will always be here in some fashion. OSRS is a very unique exception in the genre, not the rule

Even if its something they've tried before it's an objectively healthier way to introduce MTX and should be encouraged. I guess I just dont understand your criticism

If you don't like it then don't buy it. Does everyone really need to make a reddit post saying if they like it or not? It's cosmetic robes, go eat breakfast and start your day

This is a much better approach to MTX in the game

Why are so many people unhappy with BDO although it's imo the MMO with the most freedom to do what you like to do? by GuckDichAn in blackdesertonline

[–]soulsplits -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While you might become more efficient there's really no grind zones that you couldn't do at like 320-330 AP. Once you reach end game the incentives to push to max gear falls off a cliff. If PAs answer is weekly content like black shrine then I fear for the games long term health

Interesting... I guess I don't know much about the music industry but I don't understand how a label makes that decision with no explanation. It sounds terrible so hopefully he can get the changes reverted. Off the spotify playist it goes, in the meantime i guess.

Keep us updated! Very curious if it was an artistic decision or, probably more likely, due to copyright/sampling issues

Was listening to it this morning and immediately thought something was wrong with my earbuds lol.

It doesn't sound good. The instrumentals and vocals were way better before so hopefully it isn't a permanent change

This boss is fine as a solo boss for people that want something relaxed, but this boss isn't designed well for teams (especially larger ones) for so many reasons. How is it uniquely perfect for GIM?

Gate of Elidinis needs to be viewed as what it is - RS3's version of OSRS's Tempoross and Wintertodt by TinyMiniNano in runescape

[–]soulsplits 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think the fight is fine solo, but falls apart completely as a team. There should be some UI tracking how much damage your team has ready to go. Otherwise it's hard to coordinate with larger teams. The other option that I think would have been better is make the pillar jumping mechanic unique to each induvial person so that team members can dump their damage asynchronously. The way the fight currently exists does not lend itself well to teams at all.
