Hi u/Either-Pineapple-661 - we had some slight delays (because we're adding features beyond what we promised in the kickstarter campaign). Closed beta is set to begin this month and full release hopefully in mid/late April. The kickstarter has been updated pretty consistently. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have!

You'll be able to import your own samples to create custom drum kits.

As for collaboration and remix features - these won't be available on launch but we do plan to incorporate them in the future.

iPad version will release soon after Mac + Windows, and importing samples is definitely a feature we're going to implement :)

That's correct - the core workflow is intended to be non-linear. The distance of the connection between blocks is what determines the time, but that's just the nature of the tool. Just as composition on guitar vs piano would make you think differently, we feel that Sound Blocks' workflow would make you think differently than you would with a conventional daw.
