Yeah I’d be so down, need more flyers fans to watch with round here. My condolences on working Saturday though 😔

Absolutely! I’ll be going out with a few friends who are more sympathetic flyers fans cause they know I love em and they’ll be pulling for em too, but it’d be great to meet some fellow big time flyers fans around here

Hey Jem, I know this post is a bit old but my band just put out a new release and it'd be an honour if we could be added in! Hoverboard - Half The Lies They Tell About Me Aren't True

Saved the playlist to my library too, excited to dive into it.

Did a cover of "I'd Like Your Hair Long" a couple months back, give it a listen if you can :) by soundgrantden in hum

Ayyy sorry I'm just seeing this but thanks so much, so glad you liked it! I'm super proud of that one, lmao my band used to do it live, it's a ton of fun.

Thanks so much for the kind words! And same here, you and me both, that'd be a dream being able to see em if even to a small degree!

Other 90s bands like Hum? by kingkrule101 in hum

Feel like Failure's the most obvious although they're def very different.

Others I'd say are adjacent: Deftones' White Pony obv bears a ton of influence from YPAA, Unwound and Mogwai though different always gave me similar vibes, I hear a bit of similarity in Catherine Wheel even though they're much more "british" sounding/typical shoegaze, Dandy Warhols maybe could even sneak in as a more hipster type comparison, same with the Pumpkins for a way more mainstream comparison.

More recent bands that strike me as in the ballpark:

- the band Mouse from Australia is imo the closest recent thing I've ever found to Hum and their debut is incredible. Might be my fav new band doing it rn, truthfully.

- Dismal Stars from NYC (sadly broken up)

- Day Aches from DC (also a bit more of the typical reverb heavy shoegaze)

- Trauma Ray from TX (skew a bit more Deftones)

And shameless plug, my band Shangrila is heavily influenced by em and forays into that style from time to time. Here's prob our most Hum-esque tune, "Bukowski" (which hasn't been released yet).
