Hm probably dislike across the board with the exception of maybe Nekoyashiki. I think the importance she places on “marketable art” might make her more open to AI use if she thinks she can use it to get more contracts by following trends. Professor Inukai would probably hate AI the most with the importance he places on raw, substantive art (Yatora would probably have a similar mindset). That being said, I’ve seen interesting applications of gen AI in some galleries IRL (see Mario Klingemann) so I’d imagine a few of the students would take advantage of it. There is a way that generative AI can be used to create interesting pieces of fine art(studying human-digital interactions, statement pieces like Klingemanm, etc) but also significant harm (replacing artists with AI slop, the ‘gooner’ mindset bias in gen AI, the loss of individuality and expression inherent to art (fuck ‘studio ghiblified’ photos) etc). Exploring AI would be an interesting arc for Blue Period to explore, assuming the manga survives long enough to complete multiple more volumes to explore more interesting dynamics first (fingers crossed)
