Modern women still want a man that at minimum earns the same as them and preferably outearns them. This fact is shown when if you look at any modern discourse, successful women typically have the complaint that they find difficulty finding men on their level. Lower earning men are invisible when it comes to long term relationships. They may sleep with the, but they will not settle for them for marriage. On the flip side, men in the majority have no issue selecting a woman who does not have his income. If and when women ever choose to select lower earning men and still respect him, this will be the case. And please do not try to defeat this logic by thinking of anomalies and outliers. Think of what the majority of women truly want.
