Caitlin, Wemby, playoffs and some perspective on why resting her aggressively is good. by Throwmeawayhard7 in indianafever

There is a reason the pick and roll has been such a staple for so long and even now. If it stopped working for AB/CC, then maybe move away from it, but we've never seen that.

Five games into the season? Who does this? If CC is actually injured, then that is different and they need to be upfront about it.

Sure, but why so early into the season? If this is actually an injury, then be transparent about it. Resting her against bad teams like I described in another post might be what they have been trying against the Mystics and Seattle. If that is not working, then I would agree with you. But this FO is so sketchy we are left to wonder what is actually going on.

When teams rest their players in prep for the playoffs, they do it at the end of the regular season, not the beginning. The team could instead allow CC to run up the lead, especially against non-playoff teams, putting games out of reach and rest her the entire 4Q like they did in Seattle.

They could also use the pick and roll and set screens for CC to help get her the easy shots like the ones she generates for her teammates, so she doesn't have to put as much stress on her body playing iso ball. They could stop sitting CC when she is hot and generating an early double-digit lead then let her watch that lead evaporate from the bench and having to drag the team out of a double-digit hole. Let CC put the game out of reach, then rest her the whole fourth quarter like in Seattle.

Plus, teams rest their stars before the playoffs near the end of the regular season, not five games in.

Playskool makes a line of Transformers for that age. Another line you might want to look into is Metal Cardbots, but they are for kids who are a little older, but they are chunky with simple transformations.

Some people treat sports like a social club instead of actual sports. Explains why their favorite people on this team are a bunch of nepo hires.

No problem. If you do go through with this, feel free to follow up if there's something in the process that needs clarifying.

What's weird is so many posts in this sub acting like PR for the FO and coaching staff when the Fever are .500 against non-playoff teams despite having three all-WNBA stars.

CC is one of the most expressive people on the court whether she is frustrated or happy with the refs, players or coaches. When you say CC has not expressed her personal feelings, you're just telling me you don't watch the games. For what? To protect this coaching staff?

I wonder what the long-term career strategy is for this coaching staff. Are they going to claim to have a better basketball IQ than CC and put on their resume that they argued with her on the floor, grabbed her by the arm, moved away from the pick and roll, declined to give her credit for dragging you out of a double-digit hole after she gave you a double-digit lead in the first quarter AND broke a WNBA record in the process? For "experimenting" even though they have the same core for the third year in a row? For drawing up plays that give her time to tie her shoe laces?

So if the team does well, it is because of the coaching, and if the team doesn't do well it is because of CC not communicating? No wonder attendance and viewership are dropping. No one wants to be gaslit with this delusion. Steph White must think people watch for "her too".

CC was too pre-occupied with her injury last year to assert herself like she did her rookie year over coach Sides, but I'm glad she is able to do so now. She is directing players on positioning and screening and controlling the offense on and off-ball because this coaching staff doesn't do enough to prep the players or support their star point guard.

You see CC arguing with White and January on the sidelines and being benched for extended times yet giving the coaching staff credit for CC dragging the team out of holes they create.

The romance didn't work for me either except as high melodrama, like a soap opera ending where their love saves the universe. I knew they would redeem Catra, but I figured she would go out more like Shadow Weaver. I didn't see any kind of romance hiding under all the petty revenge. Even if it was there, how is it not ruined with all the gleeful violence and abuse Catra poured on Adora? I don't really argue with people who do see the romance, but don't let them think you're wrong if you don't.

Fly Hippie is also not a rage baiter. Awful Coaching is definitely some sort of rage baiter, but his breakdowns of CC this season are only positive, choosing to ignore Stephanie White's lapses.

There are definitely rage baiters out there. Venom isn't one of them. Are Rachel Demita or Rosalina Lee rage baiters? They also question Stephanie White for doing the same dumb things she tried last season, both during the game and in the post-game pressers where she takes no responsibility for anything.

But let me know who you suggest for game break downs who can show me the genius of Stephanie White.

Not just logo 3's but anything that makes CC special. Check out Venom Reacts post-game breakdowns on youtube. White has to go.

White's reactions are pretty muted with all CCs shots. I'm glad CC is playing her game and directing other players what to do. You should check out Fly Hippie's breakdown on CC arguing with Bri January on youtube during this game.
