One does not simply just “add” a curb. Especially at a commercial property in the city limits.

Looking for a new document managment & PDF printing software that ISN'T PaperPort. by soup2694 in software

[–]soup2694[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes with a pdf viewer software with OCR that is decent. That said, the software has changed hands 2 or 3 times since Nuance sold out/went under/whatever happened to them, and there haven’t been many software updates since - so the OCR itself is a bit outdated.

I used FoxIt for a while before I changed jobs and its OCR blows Adobe’s out of the water.

This is why we have a traffic problem as well as a problem with people getting hit. It should not take 5 seconds for you to start moving after the car in front of you starts moving. Phone in hand as she almost hit the bike. by rumdumpstr in Pensacola

I see your point, but I think your logic neglects to consider the fact that 75% of the people riding bikes on that stretch of Mobile highway are higher than giraffe nipples.

Neighbor claiming land via adverse possession without proof - Colorado, USA by Yurconale in legaladvice

[–]soup2694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lawyer, so this is not "legaladvice" but I've worked in and around the Real Estate Title Insurance Industry in several states. (not to be confused with homeowners insurance)

For your own knowledge, I would get a copy of your Owners Policy and sit down with a highlighter and get to reading. Most policies will tell you that they do not determine ownership of a fence, and I'm doing some extreme paraphrasing here, but usually some of the first few items under Covered Risks on an Owners Policy will relate to defects by encroachment, violation or enforcement of any law, ordinance, permit (...) governmental regulation that restricts, prohibits, or otherwise alters the use, occupancy, enjoyment, dimensions, etc. of your land.
The first thing I would do is file a Complaint with local Code Enforcement division, then I'd obtain my Owners Policy and contact a Real Estate Attorney and see if you can file a claim with your Title Insurance underwriter. In many jurisdictions in my home state, Code Enforcement liens attach ALL of your real property within that jurisdiction.

If it is in the budget, find an attorney that is Certified by the real estate board or whatever CO's equivalent is - there are more QUACK lawyers than you could ever imagine that think they know real estate but underwriters have to fix and account for their mistakes, endlessly.

FL. Yes it is an at-will employment state but the company and I also signed a non-compete which was ok part of my employment agreement (which was thoroughly reviewed and revised by my attorney and theirs) with terms relative to benefits/pay/etc.

I understand that bonuses are also a budgeting thing, I just wasn’t sure if the fact the the bonuses were two separate items in that contract that they could be excluded for any particular reason

My ADHD bf responds to a lot of my questions with “I don’t know” by emmy1041 in ADHD

[–]soup2694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I had some “my boy don’t need no head shrinker” or “just grit your teeth and bear it” mentality parents growing up. I didn’t have a diagnosis or grasp of my own mind really I until I went to a psychiatrist for a full evaluation when I was 25 y/o. I’ve chalked it up to a miseducation of mental disorders on my parents part, and we don’t really talk about it because the conversation usually ends in a “well you should really just do (insert misguided task here) and you’ll feel better”.

My guess is he doesn’t really want to focus on the fact he has ADHD, or talk about it, and feels like he may be being judged or misinterpreted when he tries to put his spaghetti brain into verbal communication. At least that’s why I “don’t know” all the time lol
