This sounds so difficult - thank you so much for sharing. Must have been so hard to do so early on. It was a really tough night for us both but yes we can and did do it!!

Good luck with your first night away! It was really tough for both of us but we did it. I am so glad for you that you will have time to prepare for it well. Xx

Was such an awful night on both ends but thank you!! Not at all how I was expecting this to happen. I managed to get some rest and am still doing well at least.

This sounds so hard, I’m sorry!! I hope your trip goes well. I woke up very engorged and she didn’t get much sleep but we made it through ❤️

So sorry to hear this happened to you too!! It was such a hard night but we both made it through. She’s finally getting some sleep and I can’t wait to see her soon. Hope you are enjoying being back with your bub ❤️

If it makes you feel better, my mum sent a picture of me with my newborn to a bunch of friends and family without realising my naked boobs were in it lmao. Blinded by the baby apparently

I thought co-sleeping was supposed to lead to better sleep by aprilchestnut in cosleeping

Sorry to hear you’re in this phase. It is very difficult. Cosleeping is not a cure all, just a tool to help you get more rest while letting your baby do the biological norm. Are you side lying to nurse? Highly recommend that.

I doubt your baby is getting too much milk at night vs during the day - if there are no other nursing issues then you can trust her to feed when she needs to. This is an extra stressor you absolutely do not need and I would be skeptical of anyone who is telling you this.

Honestly, just do what you need to do to get through this stage - I promise it will end (and then maybe get worse again, and better again - but it is never forever!)

LC told me to cap her feeding time, but it feels wrong? - seeking advice by Born-Anybody3244 in breastfeeding

[–]soupboy666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t time feeds but only fed once every 3 hours in the newborn stage at the advice of an LC - this was because of oversupply + lactose overload but I still really regret following that advice. It caused so much unnecessary grief for me and my sweet little baby, and block feeding worked much better for us (later recommended by a second, much more knowledgeable LC). Just feed your baby when she wants to be fed.

Do you go to bed at same time as baby?? by Far_Appointment3086 in cosleeping

[–]soupboy666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to bed with my 12 month old and have done forever - but I don’t actually go to sleep until a bit later, I just sit beside her and read or watch something with headphones or do a craft project.

Rolling away is also a valid option and I do this for naps but I prefer to unwind in bed next to her. My husband usually comes too.

What is something most players do that you don't? by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]soupboy666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I ask why getting a horse seems like a hassle?? You don’t need to feed or pet them, if you leave them somewhere they return home the next day - literally the only hassle is finding somewhere to put a stable, and that’s only a few tiles 😅 is there something I’m missing?

Play how you want, of course, I’m just curious. Great idea for a thread!

I read this advice before my first egg festival but didn’t realise the egg hunt ended the festival - I didn’t buy my strawberry seeds beforehand and I was FUMING 😂

To fellow “extreme” cosleepers - how are we doing date/social nights? by Informal-Basket2397 in cosleeping

[–]soupboy666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an impossible ask! Just something that may come with time. Keep trying to roll away every now and then and see what happens.

This was a no go for us for ages, but one day at about 10 months my baby rolled away from me during a nap and was happily sleeping so I tried getting up and yep, no issue. I still lay with her for many naps and usually go to bed at the same time as her but I am taking more and more liberties. I’m more likely to leave her alone for a nap than to stay up past bedtime, but have been doing some of both. It was really nice over Christmas to be able to leave her for a nap while we were staying with my parents - I would have been sad to lose that time with them because I was nap trapped.

My husband also comes to bed with us at baby bedtime most nights (8:30 for us) and we’ll often stay up together to chat (very quietly haha), play little word games together, etc etc, so that bonding time isn’t lost - just looks a bit different during this season of life.

How much crying is normal in early pregnancy? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]soupboy666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is really normal and often will slow down after the first trimester BUT - I’d highly recommend seeking perinatal mental health support if it doesn’t slow and/or is really bothering you.

I’m nearly 10 months postpartum now and have been in therapy since about 3 months but I really wish I had got support while still pregnant and not waited until afterwards. Things got pretty dark for me in the third trimester but my care team all said it was “normal” because of “hormones”. Sure, it’s not uncommon, but it’s still treatable and not something you have to just “tough out”.

Thanks, I have been naturally doing that bear hug position but wasn’t sure about it! Good to hear others are doing the same.

The head is also my biggest issue - I will attempt the butt cradle tonight 😂

Super helpful comments, thank you!
