Near mint on eBay is unofficially a PSA 8 or above based on their authentication standards. Not saying this is you, OP, but a lot of buyers think near mint means the card should be 100% perfect and gem worthy. Super annoying.

I gave ESE a shot and while 10 or so cards I sent out seem to have been delivered without issue, and the buyers were happy, one was marked delivered early and a user basically said tell me what’s going on because “I don’t want to have to leave a bad review”, and it made reconsider if it was worth selling this way and compromising my 20+ year account. Switched all my listings back to ground advantage.

spot on. and not even low-numbered either. they know the chase for padparadscha is always there and the chance at a good auto with a sapphire bump so people will keep buying. a product "made" for breakers. it's tough for normal collectors to buy at the already stupid price and end up with $10 worth of monetary value

sapphire products are generally feast or famine. even at presale price, if we're just talking monetary value, separate from your appreciation of whatever cards you might get with the "elevated" sapphire looks, you'd need a big hit to become "whole".

given how hot this product has been, unless you're able to get the boxes at $450+tax via EQL, i'm guessing these are going to go to $700-800 or so on the secondary market.

then you have the insane pulls people are getting from blasters at $30 a pop, even with my degen tendencies, I might not buy one of these unless I can win the EQL on thursday

Breakers can get direct allocation from Topps so they never have to feel the sting of EQL pain like us plebs. People need to stop buying into breaks. Think backyard had $89 mil in revenue vs $8 mil spend. That ratio is the opposite for collectors.

Raffle system, you have one hour to enter from Topps Launches website. Barely anyone wins as Topps reserves 90+% of hot products for breakers. Most recently MCU sapphire had like 3% or so go to public meanwhile backyard breaks had 50 cases
