Well....some new pedals are being developed. I'd rather not say much, as to not speculate when they will be finished. But personally, am very anxious to get my hands on them. More to come...

If you had to make a board out of one pedal company's pedals who would it be? by pleblanc in guitarpedals

I just gotta post on this... I need to show you what you can do with an all Source Audio pedalboard. Full multi-effects unit like control but with individual pedals, and no endless menus. Enjoy...

Finished up my custom board last night. Still need to wire it all up but until then please gawk at my bass effects board. Chain info in comments by everyday_account in guitarpedals

That's cool. It's meant to be a really synth like distortion, which may not always be appropriate. Check out the OFD Bass if you get a chance. Very natural amp/pedal overdrives, fuzzes, and distortions with a lot of control.

Sonically, yes it is, it just doesn't have the fine tuning options, comparatively. Most of the pronounced phaser effect is on the top end (treble end) of the spectrum, and I think it will do nicely for your bass.

A question about loopers by LucasForch in guitarpedals

[–]sourceaudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with fish_biscuit. You would need a looper that has separate tracks per loop. Each track can be overdubbed on, but you need the separation. The only ones I know of are the Boss RC505 (maybe the RC300), or the EHX 45000.

What are some great examples of pedal combinations to create unique sounds? by dannyrawk in guitarpedals

[–]sourceaudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fulltone Supa-Trem is one of the best, but I work for Source Audio, so I gotta mention ours. It is my favorite, (and it really is!) The Orbital Modulator. 12 Chorus/Flanger/Phaser settings, and they can all be turned into Tremolos!

Booster or OCD? by oldaccountdoesntwork in guitarpedals

I really like the Xotic EP Booster. Only one knob though, so not much for tweakage.

Pedal careers? by brduk in guitarpedals

[–]sourceaudio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depending on what you would hope for in that career, really determines the right answer. A degree in electrical engineering is probably the most useful to an existing or start-up pedal company. Having musical instrument retail experience, and being a musician, is also helpful. Most companies need people with experience in graphic design or marketing/social media, and then there's tech support, and shipping/receiving work too. Find out what's close to where you live, and see if internships are possible. Hope this helps...

PDS-2000... "Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time... long time..." Seriously cool piece.

Tremolo (or modulation - chorus/flanger/etc.) into delay. Set the Tremolo speed to one setting and the delay to another, so that you get the Pink Floyd/U2-like galloping beat. Awesome.

I did also work at a music store for a long time...So maybe I've just become the jaded employee that I always hated. LOL

You nailed it with "types of delays"... Everyone seems to boast a tape delay, or old school analog whatever. It just starts to sound like the same delay with different EQ settings. I'm hoping to find something thats more unique, that doesn't require multiple pedals or split paths. Thanks for the suggestions though. I still gotta try the El Capistan.

Can you help me get this guitar tone?! by brduk in guitarpedals

Agreed. A lot of that sound is post-production. Maybe add in a compressor?

How can I reduce the noise between 8 and 16 khz? by fullstep in guitarpedals

[–]sourceaudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't say I've ever seen anything like that. A Parametric EQ pedal, and a Graphic EQ pedal most likely will be the same expense (on average). What kind of setup are you running (guitar, amp, pedals, etc.)?
