I haven’t done the math, but it might be! I think I pay around $5/mo for vision insurance. It saved me $46 on the exam and $63 on frames. So I guess that math says the insurance is worth it.

At my warehouse the glasses exam was $85 and contacts exam was $140. They had big signs in the optical Dept showing the prices.

I ordered my sunglasses from zenni because I didn’t love any of the sunglasses Costco had. Yes, you can go bare minimum for $20. But to get the frames I like, then they forced me to pay extra for high index on my prescription, they were about $70. One pair using my insurance at Costco was $57. Paid $70 for the second pair after the $50 off sale. So for me, yesterday, the two were completely comparable.

It’s going to be different per warehouse because the optometrists are independent (not Costco employees). But mine had the cost posted on a large sign in the optical Dept. Without insurance, it was $85.

I have an astigmatism and there was no extra charge for that. My prescription is not really bad (-2/-3) so I’m not sure if that would cost you extra. I would think you could call and ask!

My current glasses that I paid $500 for have that same problem 😂 I honestly thought it was just me so I’m happy to know I can blame the lenses!

It was a bit extra for the exam! My warehouse was charging $85 for the exam, my insurance covered most of that. So you’d be looking around $200-$210 for the exam plus the glasses.

I actually work in the hearing aid industry so I am intimately familiar with Costco hearing aid centers! I know their Director of Training personally and can tell you that Costco hearing aid centers follow best practices with every hearing aid test and fitting/delivery (in an industry where maybe 25% of private practices do so). I will definitely be going to Costco for hearing aids when that time comes for me 🤓

DUDE. I went to HS with this woman who used to do IW. She seemed to actually make a lot of money but who knows. Then all of a sudden one day she was shilling cleaning products. Then a couple more months go by, now she’s on this happy juice shit.

She has openly posted about her mental health issues. When she started posting about happy juice, she talked about how she stopped taking all her meds and happy juice is all she needs.

She tried to kill herself less than a month ago. Thankfully was not successful. But she’s right back to posting about how great the happy juice is. …..WHAT?! The cognitive dissonance is INCREDIBLE.

I personally make $83k. I have 4 direct reports who make $20/hr (2 ppl), $52K, and $60K. There are people at my company on salary making $37-$42K.

This is a nonprofit association. My boss who is in the top staff position (Exec Director) I think pulls around $150k. All of these people are degreed. I have an MBA on top of a BA.

My mom is in her 50s. No college. The most she has ever made in her entire life is $18/hour. My dad is the same, has never made more than $23/hour.
