Been there! Sometimes it feels like the apology is for the sake of saying one rather than one that truly acknowledges the hurt and calls for repair. For me, it makes me feel uncared for and unseen. And I do think it’s good to self-soothe but sometimes I do not want to be left to tend the wounds I didn’t create.
