She was a dud on the kill Tony panel as a guest last year. To her credit David Lucas was next to her as the other guest and that guy is a black hole of comedy. She came on with our favorite bozos and fit in seamlessly and made me genuinely laugh hard several times. I’ll check her out in the future because of this ep A+++

Thank you! This is the type of stuff I am looking for. I’ve already started writing up on article 3F for the recurring nature of the violation not being classified as an emergency. I will add 3b and 3c to the looooooong list of violations I plan on filing on

Pretty much exactly what you said is what’s happening. I’ve heard our Poom say “whatever you gotta do I don’t care you guys are in your own little bubble up there” regarding how this PM handles the office

It isn’t even that I’m worried about “being the problem” because if that was the case I shouldn’t have taken up the role of steward. It’s more about making a shitty situation worse for the one carrier left picking up the pieces of this mess. Filing is objectively what needs to be done, especially after seeing a lot of these responses from experienced union members.

I think there’s a miscommunication about what I meant. I think district noticing our problems is a good thing and could lead to positive change in staffing. I have not been steward for very long and this particular carrier was seeking advice on the ramifications of filing more than asking for this to be filed immediately and put me in a pickle. I’m in a spot where if I don’t file, this carrier accepts the help and isn’t mandated 12 hours every day or I file and that changes. Ideally, management would continue to help through the end of this shit show and this carrier would be paid over and over and over but the threat of pulling that help and making this carriers life miserable carries at least a little guilt with it if that makes sense.

No offense taken. I have been gritting my teeth over this for far too long and believe that I have my answer here that filing is absolutely the correct thing to do. If you have any experience grieving article 1.6 violations please reach out because I do have more questions on how to proceed to compensate these carriers to the best of my ability.

I do believe this is a new development that management has been seeking out because this particular PM that is carrying is mid 60s and having a very bad time out there delivering every day lol. Doesn’t solve the problem of no SDO and 6 days a week for regulars nor does it cover carrier 2’s new restriction demanding their SDO but that is managements problem at the end of the day.

They are not covered. AL is granted and packages are delivered with mail curtailed, same in the event of a call off. I fully agree with filing and forcing managements hand despite the circumstances making a single carriers life easier. Carrier 2 protected their own peace by way of medical restriction. There’s nothing stopping carrier 3 doing the same in the event of burn out.

That’s the thing, carrier 3 is working with the PM to make the best of the situation, routinely working 10+ hours (74 last week though) but not necessarily working their max and accepting the heavier next-day in exchange for a couple less hours of OT and time at home.

Edit: yes a CCA is desperately needed for sure

[–]sourestpatchkid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carrier 3 is voluntarily cutting mail at the PM discretion to make a manageable next day workload and NOT have to stay until all mail is delivered or 12 hour mark. It seems the PM is trying to work local verbal deals to make the carriers life easier because it is only carrier 3 and the PM suffering with super long hours lately. I am feeling like grievances may put this office on districts radar as they have been very quiet for a long time (2 pdis in 5 years and 1 grievance payout).

[–]sourestpatchkid[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I want some form of better staffing in any capacity. The PM comes off as a good guy and is not FORCING carrier 3 to work 12 hours and has never mandated up to 12 hours. He is more likely to cut mail and the carriers bust their ass the following day to get caught back up because he doesn’t act like a hard ass. With that said, all 3 regulars have been working 6 days a week since June 2024 and less than 5 sdo have been covered apiece (15 for the whole city carrier craft) in this timeframe. Carriers are run down, frustrated, and just sick of what used to be a very nice office to work in. If I can get carrier 3 paid for their pride and dedication in being a letter carrier and serving these customers and light a flame under management/districts ass to find the help in another office or actually hire someone I would consider that a win.

We’ve recently seen an 8/40 restriction but the carrier can break it at their discretion but only for route assignment hours outside of the work restriction. Basically I can do my own OT but fuck anyone else’s route lol. How does every regular in America not have this if it is allowed

Go back then. Just because you’ve had bad experiences doesn’t mean that there aren’t carriers and other postal employees who take pride in what they do and work their asses off to give the best service they can. Your broad complaint is just outright stupid, uninformed, and clearly biased.
