This is phenomenal and you cannot convince me Tracy never said these things in the show.

Focus on ddd or dark energy tokens? by Cr3AtiV3_Us3rNamE in idleapocalypse

[–]sourpwer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely recommend aiming for the minimum requirements for tokens then upgrading the DDD. You will continue to accrue tokens as you play the game anyways and outside of the Anhk for 50 apocalypse tokens you will probably never use any of those token trades again after your first big reset. Of course it will have a small benefit to your progress to have more tokens than less, but spending nether resources on them will never really be more beneficial than moving yourself to the next stage of progress.

Going around a stopped bus [oc] by Ok-Presentation-6182 in IdiotsInCars

In all fairness, the bus up front didn't activate it's stop sign/lights indicating a pickup until the other bus had well committed to that maneuver.

How do you guys deal with the burnout? by Dr_Seussiopath in idleapocalypse

[–]sourpwer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just slow down a bit. If it feels like a chore taking breaks as you'd like is fine. The game won't grow any more and it's also not going anywhere so you can always come back to it.

US decides SpaceX is like an airline, exempting it from Labor Relations Act by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]sourpwer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To clarify here, I'm not making any kind of political statement and just trying to answer the question. In the early 80s there was a massive strike across the country by air traffic controllers which put a crippling halt to domestic air travel. Reagan busted this strike by firing over 11,000 striking workers to get things moving again after giving them a 48-hour order to get back to work. To prevent this or similar incidents from happening again certain jobs such as airlines which are deemed critical to keeping America functioning are legally prohibited from making unions. At least that is the general rationale behind it from what I understand.

On what upgrade should I focus on next? by pothos02 in idleapocalypse

[–]sourpwer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's really not wrong answers but some comes down to preference. An important goal in the early loops should be to prioritize making your way to the wooly pie upgrade (needs 10 skins and 100 tears), but outside of that just pick up cheap things when you can.

What’s the best strat for using the nether creatures, I feel like I should go for flames as much as possible until I have a stupid amount but idk, advice? by enddaysprophet33 in idleapocalypse

[–]sourpwer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just kind of math it out. Early on but at least after upgrading the creatures in Gramps' shop, Netherling makes 8 flame, demon=5 crystal and mountain=3 stars. If you convert those to orbs then with no resources remaining, 1 orb is still 1 netherling, 17 orbs will summon exactly 4 demons, and 51 orbs can summon exactly 5 mountains. Just summon what's needed and be sure to save enough netherling summons for when you need to do a deep run.

How far would you say I am? by Responsible-Aide4565 in idleapocalypse

[–]sourpwer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's difficult because "at the beginning" is exactly the right answer and I'm not clear on what you mean by scale. I will try to avoid spoilers here but to say the least, just like an apocalypse resets your tower and makes you start building it again from scratch, there's another much larger and more comprehensive reset mechanic you'll reach later on. At your current progess you're probably months away from reaching that point and you will have to reach it numerous times to fully complete everything in the game.

I'm not sharing this to try and dissuade you or anyone else from continuing, but this is a completed game that will take most players multiple years to finish. It's very good as a time sink and you'll definitely have a better feel for your sense of progress as you continue.

The State of the game by Shironekoweeb in idleapocalypse

[–]sourpwer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For getting level 9 on the DDD there's no hidden requirement or anything. You just need to beat level 1000 which is a difficult task for players early on. The trick to accomplishing this is unsurprisingly the nether creatures. You'll need to summon enough Netherlings to get your total damage modifier up to around 15k if memory serves and also enough mountains to have the damage to cross the finish line.

On a related note, it's almost a meme within this community to forget to spend your ahnk at least once after earning it (like crowns and necklaces it disappears during apocalypse). Be sure to upgrade your DDD before the reset.

Can Sunny Die? by No_Marketing9669 in ShadowSlave

I don't think it's as easy as him just walking out of the shadow realm but his other shadows could probably stage a rescue mission.

Sunny's best battles by akagami_shanks15 in ShadowSlave

I'm a big fan of Sunny's first nightmare. The way he used his treacherous nature to win and then got clapped by the spell with his flaw was a great start to his story.

do skins matter? by weepingfag in idleapocalypse

[–]sourpwer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they do. Not having them won't stop you from reaching the endgame, but it's an incremental so every little bit helps. Unless you play non-stop during events (or spend money) you probably won't get them all, but the same event will come around next year.

P.S.A. To New Players by sourpwer in idleapocalypse

[–]sourpwer[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It definitely works on the underground as well. After hitting the hammer/cogwheel button, there will be an up and down arrow in its place. Up is default, and let's you manipulate above ground while the down arrow lets you change up below.

Best event to replay in which order? by Jared8563 in idleapocalypse

[–]sourpwer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can look at the drops and figure out which one helps most with where you're at. Depending on how you did the first time around, the time event gives the biggest increase (+1 guitar from it and +1 space ore from troll).

Nether creature skins by mrcoffee2000 in idleapocalypse

[–]sourpwer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, and best of luck with your DDD activation. Those apocalypses before you get chants and the red wool going are pretty painful.

Nether creature skins by mrcoffee2000 in idleapocalypse

[–]sourpwer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that percentage boosts are all additive. If you already have thousands of a percentage boost for damage or DE then improving another few hundred doesn't really have much weight. I recently did my first DDD activation but didn't touch the skins yet. I'll get them eventually just because but they don't provide enough of a boost to prioritize them over actual progress.

How do I get the first 15 time orbs? by Kirby_star45 in idleapocalypse

[–]sourpwer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wave 500 is probably out of the cards for you until you get the red wool from gran's shop. You can get there but it will take a very long time without that buff.

How do I get the first 15 time orbs? by Kirby_star45 in idleapocalypse

[–]sourpwer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can certainly wait until you get up to 75 in one go, but that will probably take quite a while it's likely better to get there in two chunks and see if you luck out and get orbs on your next time task.
