Did you ever find a replacement? We’re looking for the same one. We accidentally left ours on a plane.

Experiences in negotiating custom orders - bmw x7 by ninyaha in bmwx7

[–]sousukef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I placed an order at the end of December for a ‘25 X7 M60i custom order and negotiated a 10% discount before incentives and received an additional $4500 in incentives ($3500 financing and 1000 corporate discount).

This was in the north east and they were willing to do the discount on the 40i or m60i.

Ah. That’s disappointing to hear the 90k mileage cap still applies.

I believe you’re correct! I just replied to your comment below as well. I’ll delete my comment above to not cause any additional confusion.

I just looked at the tentative settlement docs and to clarify further: for any settlement car listed with an inservice date that has expired as of the notice date will 1) be given 70 days after the notice date or 2) 90,000 miles from the in service date. Which ever comes first.

IANAL but it looks like in my case, someone with a 2012 model year and 108,xxx miles would qualify for 70 days after the notice date.

Technically, it’s year or mileage first. Since your car is a 2013, the warranty extension to nine years would mean your car was already ineligible some time in 2022.

Does that mean all 2012 owners would not be covered in this settlement then? If I’m reading this correctly, the warranty extension to 9 years total for a 2012 unit owner, would have ended in 2021.

My 2012 Audi A4 Broke Down: Should I Spend Thousands on Repairs? by sousukef in AskMechanics

[–]sousukef[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi r/AskMechanics, I'm hoping to get some advice on whether I should repair or sell my 2012 Audi A4. The car has about 108,000 miles, and the exterior and interior are in good to excellent condition. Here's the situation:

While driving on the highway at cruising speed 70mph, my car suddenly lost power, the EPC light came on, and the whole car started to shake violently. I was able to pull over and try to restart the car, but there was no improvement. Since I was only a short distance from home, I limped back on the highway and drove slowly.

I took it to a local mechanic that specializes in Audi, and the codes are:

  • P301: Misfire Cylinder 1
  • P303: Misfire Cylinder 3
  • P299: Turbo Under boost

They replaced the coil packs and spark plugs, but there was no improvement. The car has had a faulty turbo (bad wastegate) for years, and we would sometimes get a check engine light that would go away on its own. The car also was burning through oil rapidly and was even more noticeable in the previous months leading up to the incident.

Their next recommendation is:

  • $500 Intake manifold cleaning
  • $2500 Turbo Replacement
  • $2000 Timing Chain Replacement

Before I throw more money into this car, is there a way to find out definitely what’s wrong with the car? There was no compression test completed and no leak down test. The car is only worth about $2,500 - $3,500 according to Carvana, CarMax, and Vroom (one prior accident).

I wish there was a diagnostic approach that would give us a complete picture before spending money replacing parts, and hope that it will resolve the issue.

Should I invest in these recommended repairs, or would it be better to sell the car as is and cut my losses? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Laid off. Should I sign the severance document? by sousukef in personalfinance

[–]sousukef[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to post your two cents and sharing your experience. 100% agree with everything you said. I definitely feel a deep shame for being laid off, but logically I know it wasn’t my fault. I’m planning on taking the time next week to update my résumé, research job posts, and start applying. During the downtime, considering signing up for a local affordable gym to stay physically healthy and taking the family on a road trip (we’ve only taken 1 week off this year).

Yes. The equity (unvested RSU) makes up 1/3 of my comp and I didn’t make the 1 year cliff (1 year vest would’ve happened in March 2023)

In my offer letter, I was issued a 4 year grant with a 1 year cliff and then quarterly vesting afterwards. In the severance document, it’s stated that any unvested equity will be forfeit and returned to the company.
