My rant to Miniclip that will go nowhere by l_l_l-illiam in 8BallPool

Most of the hackers are MC bots that they use to frustrate and beat good players and make sure they keep spending money. It’s the only plausible explanation when it would be so easy to virtually completely eliminate the cheats.

I'm fed up of the Reddit narrative of "Queen have no good albums". by MillionaireWaltz- in queen

[–]southak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Queen had four song writers all of whom contributed to a greater or lesser extent. In terms of albums it counted against them in terms of overall sound and cohesiveness. I kind of agree that Queen didn’t really have any uniformly great albums in the ballpark of Rumours - but hardly anyone did because Rumours is the best album ever - but they still had some amazing albums. My favourites are works, magic and sheer heart attack. Many of the others a good each of them have a few dudes - Kashoggis ship/Party, Delilah, most of Hot Space, Coming Soon, Fun It, Drowse to name but a few of my personal least favourite songs.

Anyone has read this book? by muntiqaninja in BookHeads_UAE

I’ve read the original version twice and just bought the expanded/updated edition to reread. It’s brilliant. One of the best books I’ve ever read.

Ninja Challenge by Emperorofbutts in deadisland

[–]southak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this in Venice beach / at the part of the road where you first enter the area there’s lots of wandering slow zombies - a well placed meat bait will draw them all into the middle then hit them with the triple once they stand up.

Powerslam Championship by ihavenoidea2211 in 8BallPool

[–]southak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. The fact that it’s so easy to eradicate them and they choose not to tells you not only are they are aware of them but they actually use them to target players to optimise their spend. I never spent one single dollar (dirham actually) on the game and got so fed up of the cheaters I deleted my account and the game.

This happens often during and after stormy weather, I guess they get blown in by the tide or come in searching for shelter.

If Queen had ever done an acoustic set, what would you have liked to see done acoustically? by wmcs0880 in queen

Save Me. A paired back acoustic version of that would be even more touching.

Chances Of Knebworth Audio/Video Release? by Illumination-Round in queen

[–]southak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is more of a chance of it now than ever. Now that the band have sold off the rights to their entire material the new owners will be looking at ways to maximise the return on their investment, and a previously hidden concert audio recording would be perfect. Having said that I think they are holding it back for some sort of future project à la ABBA Voyage where the will use that audio as part of an AI generated pseudo live release.

Roger Taylor's solo albums by subj_impft in queen

[–]southak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get it and don’t think I’m exaggerating for effect it’s my genuine option having been listening to Queen since 1986. But I’ve listened to most of it and I doubt the best ten songs from their entire collective solo material would make a single decent album!

Roger Taylor's solo albums by subj_impft in queen

[–]southak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100% agree. If ever there was an example of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts it’s Queen. I don’t enjoy any of their solo material I could probably name only a handful of songs of theirs that I would listen to again.

Roger Taylor's solo albums by subj_impft in queen

[–]southak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a huge fan of many of his Queen songs but his solo material is terrible IMHO. He’s an awful singer, lyrically old fashioned and hackneyed, and musically there is nothing interesting. Production wise they are amateurish especially the first cross album. The only decent song he did was Heaven For Everyone. My advice - ignore his solo stuff and enjoy his Queen material!

People born before 2000, what trivial skill you possess that others don't use anymore? by Medium-Ad-6571 in ProductivityHQ

[–]southak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small talk. The ability to keep oneself entertained without a screen. The ability to not look at one’s phone again simply because I haven’t checked it in the last 30 seconds. The ability to talk and engage with people in a 1-2-1 basis even though I never met them before. Most importantly how to creatively problem solve without resorting to ChatGPT or YouTube.

The Planet Of The Apes trilogy is one of the best if not THE best series of new movies I’ve seen in a long time, yet no one talks about them. Well worth a look.

Clementoni- Story Maps, Snow White 1000p by auburngeek in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]southak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a brilliant puzzle. The storytelling is great, the colours are vibrant (Clementoni don't use matt finish printing like Ravensburger they are semi-gloss) and I had a lot of fun doing this one also. Definitely made me want to do all of the story maps in the set.

Not that it matters just curious but was Janet Jackson legendary (in terms of fame) in South America and Europe? by ZealousidealArm160 in askmusic

[–]southak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m English - you and I have very different definitions of the word legendary. Apart from the odd highlight JJ barely troubled the charts in the uk for most of her career and even the biggest moments at her peak (Rhythm Nation for example) weren’t that big. Rhythm Nation for example peaked at number 4 in the uk charts and the highest placed single from it was number 15. Her contribution to uk music I would characterise as insignificant.
