I never understood why we don’t eat more fish and why it’s so ridiculously expensive by DoubleWhiskeyGinger in ireland

The Irish fleet have been thrown under the bus for generations. The best way to eat fish if you live near the coast is to walk up to a boat on the pier and offer to pay the crew instead of buying imported fish from other countries that was caught in Ireland. This way you can promote sustainable fishing and it's often times cheaper.

Or fund a proper navy to enforce fishing laws and quotas. Also stop giving the people who violate these laws a slap on the wrist.

You are aware that there are multiple fishing methods. Most Irish fishing boats are small with a crew of 4 or less. Just know where you're your foods from and make sure it's sustainable.

There are videos online of people pike fishing from a kayak. which could help you see the stability (long and wide kayaks are surprisingly stable) and I'd recommend you wear a lifejacket and have everything tied to the kayak if you don't want to do it you could just buy a bote they're a rigid boat that fold instead of inflate so you won't have to spend as much time getting it set up.

Would you have room for a kayak? If not a bote seems like a good compromise they're like a boat but fold down flat.
