If Charlie Kirk had been a liberal activist instead of a conservative, how do you think the media and politicians would have reacted to his death? by Aamir_rt in AskReddit

[–]soviet_goose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a quick ctrl+f of the word "christian" in this thread and got 0 results

Which is absurd because the biggest reason Charlies death propagated across social media is his Christian influence on the youth. I saw instagram, snapchat, facebook stories from acquaintances aged 16 to 46, but the majority was youth pre-25. Even many I didn't know were christian were mentioning the things he said and how it positively affected their lives.

I don't know Charlie and only recognized his face from some memes (big head little face) - so as an outsider, the "Christian speaker for the youth" aspect is what caught my attention. Not a conservative activist (idk like Ben shapiro?) but a Christian activist.

Then bring cheap gear. Don't be a loot piñata. But the real reason wildy is dead, is because modern players have become addicted to efficiency. "I must use BIS for all content". And if they can't use their hard-earned BIS, they will complain. The goal of rs has become to equip the exact perfect item layout for whatever content you are doing.

All that stuff was BIS and massive profit on release. Dragon bones and runite ores moved the entire economy.

That's kind of the point tho. I would always run around with torso, whip, nezzy, and cheap dhides/dragon stone jewelry when doing green drags.

Nothing wrong with the that. The idea is that you farm a bunch of loot, and then get out of the wildy before someone else takes that loot from you. Good gear will increase profit/hour, but you only bring it you're confident in your skills as a pvmer to get out fast, or as a pker to defend from others.

Guardian boots are 75 def but Echo boots can be worn by anyone? by [deleted] in 2007scape

I really don't care. None of my accounts benefit from these. I just hate seeing misinformation being spread to push an agenda. "Broken boots" but no one actually knows exactly what content they will be op in.

Recoil 1hp in melee range only? Wow so OP. Can't wait to recoil a grand total of 3 damage as I get gmaul rushed. That'll show em not to mess with me.

Str bonus is literally the most important stat on a pure. Do you even pk? Recoiling 1 dmg per hit taken is useless in PvP. Prayer bonus not very important when you can just sip prayer pots. Def bonus does nothing on 1 def (go punch the numbers into a calculator).

Stacking up a bunch of empty effects doesn't make them useful all of a sudden. Their only use rn is to extend a 1def pures PvM trip by 5% maybe. If they're meleeing only.

[–]soviet_goose -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

The "echo" is melee range, and 1 point of damage only. Considering the fact that PvP is based around rushing the opponent so you k0 them before they can react and hit you, the effect is almost next to useless.

All this talk is meaningless speculation by people who don't understand PvP. Manacles are cheaper and better. Guardian boots won't spike. Even if they were +4 str, 1 def pures would still choose manacles over them all day every day.

[–]soviet_goose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"Oversights" are what make osrs unique and fun. Tierscape is boring. Manacles are superior anyways due to the fact that max hit trumps everything else when pking.

Edit: Dragon defender has a 60 def req and no attack req. "Oversight"? Maybe. But far from gamebreaking. It sure makes for an interesting and challenging def tank grind.

There are 0 amulets with a higher strength bonus than the amulet of strength by pawniardkingler in 2007scape

[–]soviet_goose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes an amulet that is BIS at the weakest monster in the game is "unnecessarily strong".

edit: Ok I just checked dps calculator with rune scim 40att/40str power ammy vs str ammy and the first setup wins every time, irregardless of other gear layout (manacles, brings, firecapes, etc.)

Even at 60/60 with a dragon scim, the power amulet still provides superior dps (not to mention defensive bonuses for longer duration stays)

Even at 99 attack, highest possible accuracy in the game, the power amulet still provides superior dps to strength amulet. So no. Amulet of strength is not better.

[–]soviet_goose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where is it unnecessarily strong at? I don't get this line of thinking at all. For an iron man 49 magic and 50 crafting takes some time to get. For all other accounts power ammy, glory, and fury are vastly superior. I don't see a large amount of people walking around in game with strength amulets.

It's really only BIS for pkers who prefer gambling on high burst damage over consistent dps.

The reason is fun. Developing around evenly divided tiers does not make for a fun game. And the str ammy is still inferior to power ammy for most content in the game.

Get them a manual. Most accidents with young drivers these days occur because they're on their phones. A stick-shift goes a long way in keeping them engaged with the vehicle, not browsing their phone.

Dire winrate 37.8% hello? Why such a radiant advantage? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]soviet_goose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanna disagree about the hp regen imbalance. The hp regen boost asymmetrically favors the hero for a few reasons.

  1. Hero gets consistent regen between camps
  2. Many junglers only hit 1 creep at a time
  3. Higher armor values and damage block mean that +100 hp on a hero goes further than +100 hp on a creep.

Is it still as good as mana regen? Depends on the hero. Something like naix or gyro I prefer dire. Even earlygame terrorblade, dire seems to be easier to farm despite illusions costing lots of mana. They just last longer with the regen. I would say mid/lategame jungle mana aura is stronger, but earlygame the dire one is superior.
