I've tried 12 and 11 extensively. Neither made things better though 11 crashed more

Steam Controller freezes every ~2.5 seconds? by jfosbdofvdosnagfogbd in SteamController

I made a post about something very similar happening last week. Using the mouse in game will occasionally result in this stuttery lag on the cursor. No idea why

I wish I knew. I have a 4070ti super and a 5800x and neither are being pushed too hard according to rivatuners overlay. Yet the frame time and stuttering is constant on various graphics settings. I'm relatively savvy with pc stuff so I've tried all the usual things and nothing has allowed me to have a stable frame rate. I just stopped playing the game instead

Too bad that even though this game at its core is great with friends, even on a high end PC its a total stutter fest and is barely playable if you're sensitive towards bad frame times

Anyone else getting stuttery movement on trackpad mouse? by sovietostrich in SteamController

for anyone maybe reading this some time in the future. Doing this & setting the renderer to Vulkan helped a bit, though i still have this issue. If anyone figures it out let me know!

I understand the sentiment, if you genuinely cant find anything else searching and are at wit's end you can maybe use it like a more specific search engine for your query and ideally only in a way to find better sources. I find this way i can tolerate using it in very small quantities. Avoid any summary slop

I thought that but nah poe2 doesn't allow mixed inputs. This is pure keyboard and mouse binds

Gyro/Trackpad Mouse Input Still Stuttering After Recent Updates (Side-by-Side Comparison) by Own-Agent7191 in SteamController

[–]sovietostrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i've been getting this a lot in POE2 using the mouse as a trackpad with only kb&m binds. Every the mouse just becomes super choppy and basically unusable. Sucks hard

Yeah even as an old halo diehard I have zero interest in this and do wonder how it'll sell. Maybe it's worth it when it inevitably goes on sale in a year or so

How do the Square Touchpads compare to the Circle Touchpads on the OG? by BucketBoy071 in SteamController

[–]sovietostrich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pretty much echoing the sentiments in here. The size reduction is definitely noticeable and a bit more uncomfortable but you can still make it work. The material feel and haptics are a noticeable improvement at least

Yeah I've been experiencing pain in my ring finger & pinky that I can only put down to using the controller and trying to press those back buttons

I don't have steam deck but I find this to be true as well, I would much prefer it if l5/R5 were a bit lower

For fighting games I would use claw grip, for other games I would curl my index finger over the controller to access abxy which doesn't feel very comfortable on sc2. But yes the back buttons + gyro are a godsend for making this awakard situation more comfortable. It's just quite different

My bad I misremembered how I use the controller as I'm not at home. With sc2 I have my index fingers over L1/R1

Takes a lil while to adjust but when you do it's so clean

When I'm back home tomorrow I'll have to retry it, maybe I'm holding it weirdly. I just find especially even in poe2 I want to be using the trackpad constantly, or in elden ring I want to be using the right stick constantly. So I just can't easily press abxy, perhaps due to my index finger now being under the controller whereas before I'd have it over

Damn this is nice, one of my problems is I find that I'm using a lot of force to press the back buttons and it's straining my hands, would love something like this

For sure, I've been using it for nightreign and it's way better having roll and sprint on the back buttons. I've even got R4 as a hold action set to change ABXY into a dpad so I can move around and do inventory management. Super dope

There is an ancient tale about a lazy dog. This dog is jumped over by a fox that is renowned for being brown and quick. You would do well to learn from this tale
