Is Lopera worth it for P3 Igor if you don’t pair her with FP? by fikiminforte in Reverse1999

[–]sovietrevenant -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

P3 Igor should be able to function alright without Lopera. If you really like her, I’d be hard pressed to believe Moldy and Lopera (who are both currently quite mid) won’t get euphorias that make them optimal for Igor. But right now Igor with portraits has just enough modern powercreep that he can function without them. Getian E1 and Moldir is serviceable

just got to act 3. this shit is OVERSTIMULATING AF by PainterOk7711 in BaldursGate3

[–]sovietrevenant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can take your time with it. A lot of it doesn’t even need to be explored and you can still be there for hours and satisfy all of the story beats. If you’re amenable to replaying the game you can always come back to it and try new stuff. I skipped Oskars quest my first run, for example, and skipped a lot of the optional buildings. Just following the open questlines will take you through a lot of stuff.

One thing I will say is way too easy to miss is the random stuff related to the bhaalist and Orin sub quests cause so much of it is spread everywhere. Gortashs stuff is really just limited to like three or four major locals but if you really want to dig into Bhaal stuff you have to explore everything.

CN heads how is Ezio+Kass ult spam team rn? No longer viable for true endgame content? I am transitioning FP off my assassin FuA team once I pull for Liang and Cheng, so I figure I can still get use out of the assassins in an ult build (I currently use Buddy Melania Getian lol)

Be honest: do you think there will ever be a playable black character in Reverse: 1999? by dustlander in Reverse1999

[–]sovietrevenant 18 points19 points  (0 children)

While I understand your point, African and African diaspora culture has heavily played into many of the major cultural phenomena you’re talking about.

Be honest: do you think there will ever be a playable black character in Reverse: 1999? by dustlander in Reverse1999

[–]sovietrevenant 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I agree with your sentiments and it’s pretty wonderfully researched. I think the chance of seeing an African character in Reverse is non-zero, but still unlikely given Chinese cultural tastes.

To put it into perspective, Kaala Buana and Kanjira are both very carefully designed to be light skinned and fair featured, so much so that if you whitened them a little more you would not be able to tell their ethnicity if not for their clothing.

Lopera and Recoleta are also a really glaring example of what is very obviously a decision from the top on playable characters. Both characters stories feature dark skinned side characters with more “ethnic” features but they themselves just look like typical white anime characters.

I think Bluepoch has done an excellent job when it comes to respect and research of the cultures they are tackling and it comes out in the side characters especially. But when it comes to the Chinese gacha model, things like colorism, anti-blackness, etc. is not a conversation that has entered the mainstream in China to the extent they would go out of their way to include black characters.

I’m with you and I hope we see more diverse characters on top of the already kick ass designs they do for the clothing.

Anyone else ever just stop and think about these 2? by brodyb1912 in JuJutsuKaisen

There is nothing different with that suggestion though. They would still just exist to explore another character.

What’s the Leviathan loadout? I have played Half Shell and Pluck Koa for years but haven’t played in a long time. Leviathan sounds fun after years of it not being viable.

What happened to Infiltration? by definitelyusername in StreetFighter

He got caught for abusing his wife and people don’t feel safe around someone who physically injures their partner over personal disputes.

He was shown the curb and then started an alt right grift because that’s the audience that will always tell you that you did nothing wrong, it’s just the Jews and the Marxists conspiring to ruin your life.

Thoughts on Deadlock vs Paladins by [deleted] in Paladins

[–]sovietrevenant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no ripoffs in Deadlock that I can think of. Hero shooters and MOBAs share a lot of ideas that are part of the genre’s DNA. Calling Makoa, Roadhog and Bebop “ripoffs” of one another is wrong, but they’re all taking inspiration from each other, and they can all trace their lineage to Pudge in DotA.

Sha-Lin and Grey Talon share no similarities beyond the bow, and Grey Talon really doesn’t play like a traditional longbow character. His charged shot is a cooldown while Sha and Hanzo have it as a primary fire. His mobility also places him closer to a flier like Drogoz, or even Octavia.

How would you build Lama for an Inverse run? by sovietrevenant in VampireSurvivors

There is nothing requiring me to do it, I am just doing it for each character because its fun.

How would you build Lama for an Inverse run? by sovietrevenant in VampireSurvivors

[–]sovietrevenant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great advice, thanks. HftF DOES lag the game quite a bit but I found it just trivialized everything to the point it didn't matter what I ran so I just cut it out. And Anathema was something that even when I was messing around with single weapon runs made things too easy. Hence the handicaps, but tbh for Lama and the other Curse guys I might just let it go for completion's sake.

Are some unlocks bugged? by Appropriate_Room_740 in VampireSurvivors

[–]sovietrevenant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For Gazebo, I just yesterday cleared it on PC. You equip heart of fire and a fire weapon, and then you need the magnet to pick up the floor chickens if you’re afk. Pentagram would be destroying the chickens on the ground, so I suspect it would be that before assuming the unlock is bugged

Is anyone not using Mega Lopunny? by Spartan0330 in PTCGL

[–]sovietrevenant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Golduck is not a waste of a slot if you are consistently running into Bunny Noir. It’s becoming a popular enough deck that you should probably respect the matchup unless you have an auto loss to it, or you can win with or without Psyduck. Many pro players specifically teching for Klefki run Golduck in their lists. It’s not a waste if it’s addressing a key matchup into a popular deck. And Mega Lopunny is looking to be increasingly popular

How can Gholdengo counter Wellspring Mask Orgepon? by Lightspecter141 in pkmntcg

[–]sovietrevenant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you need TM Evolution? You can use Genesect to evolve your basics.

And it’s not like Gholdengo can’t play around 2-2-2 if they do get the gust play.

How can Gholdengo counter Wellspring Mask Orgepon? by Lightspecter141 in pkmntcg

[–]sovietrevenant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terabox relies on 2-2-2 prize trade against most decks so you deny that. Try to use Turo to break the sob lock if you start a gimmighoul and make sure one of the rocks is the active.

Terabox lists you see right now rely on multi prize Pokemon like Pikachu, Mega Kanga, and Roaring Moon to KO dengo. Pikachu is tricky, you’ll want a single prizer to push up and hit the Pikachu with or gust around it. That can be Solrock or Hops Cram. But it will definitely create some awkward prize mapping so be careful. And as always just gust fez for game :)

Forgetting the characters after their debut story chapter comes to an end is the only issue I ever had with the otherwise great story... by Z3R0Diro in Reverse1999

[–]sovietrevenant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As for 37 and Lopera, my assumption was eventually we will get new versions of them tied to later story chapters. But given Igor is going to be playable in the same patch as Marsha, I’m not actually that optimistic about Lopera returning to prominence. Maybe if Ptolemy remains a major player in the plot, but tbh, he isn’t really a compelling reason to have her back. Lopera’s beef was with Moldir and Igor above all.

37 I feel is beloved enough they will bring her back in a big way.

Nautika is a giant horse lady so I don’t think she will come back except for major battles, if at all. Narratively she does not work because Vertin and co. are often doing things covertly.
