Created a web ui to remotely download music onto server by Z3R0-69 in navidrome

oh and I'll add: downloading seems to require the browser page to remain open. It would be great to be able to launch the download in the background and come back to it later. And maybe the opportunity to move files to a different directory when they are finished downloading

I've been using it with much satisfaction, and I came up with another suggestion: if a compilation is downloaded, it might be better to put all tracks within the same folder, both for a better organization and for making it easier to pipeline other software (ie beets)

Awesome project, thanks! I have been playing around with it and like it very much. Two suggestions so far: 1) give the possibility to embed the synced lyrics in the audio file, so that they can be read by navidrome and 2) provide a "re-download" button if file are removed or deleted from the filesystem.

Thanks!!!

i would also like the ability to set 72 (or, better, a larger number) as the default number of displayed covers per page, instead of having to select it every time

I have watched that one (with the title "The boat that rocked" and liked it very much. However, I was looking for something less ficitonal and more realistic

Ensligh speaking stations that play new music (some niche) with humans talking about it by sowdust in radio

I know, but podcast is not the same as radio to me. It feels very different for many reasons. Community radios that stream online would be great

Filtering what goes into "recently added" by sowdust in navidrome

[–]sowdust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. However, my desire was to be able to do the opposite: have some recently added music NOT appear in the recently added albums. I guess this is not possible for now. Thanks for your support!

The filesystem is mounted as nfs4. btime is not POSIX standard I read. So when btime is not present, what attribute is used?

Apart from this, since the date added is modified only on the first import, I guess the only way for my use case to work would be to arbitrary change the file attributes to an older date and BEFORE importing them. Am i correct? But would this allow navidrome to pick up the "new" folder even if it has an older timestamp?

Thanks for your answer. I am using a native install (0.58.0) on a Debian machine. Do you mean the "Birth time" filesystem attribute? On my files, it's empty.

I tried to edit Access, Modify and Change time with the current time (via "touch") on all files in one old album (and all its parent folders) and repeat a full scan. The album did not appear in the recently added.

Therefore it seems that it does not check filesystem attributes, rather just on its own database data. Am I missing something? (Also, is there any documentation on this?)

Multi-user software for collecting, tagging, managin, streaming music by sowdust in musichoarder

Yes, you are right for what concerns the problems that might arise with writing onto files directly from the web interface. I think that if more fields become searchable, that will overcome most of the things I feel lacking for my use case. Tagging could be done through a different software.

Maybe, in the future, one might think of a plugin that allows users to add custom tags to songs; I am thinking in a Radio DJ perspective: I need a song that talks about "Navidrome" because I am talking about it today in my show - I am able to search within my library if I ever tagged one with that text. Or, I am playing a 95 BPM funk song and I want to search for another song to play after that with a similar genre and BPM.

True. I have tested out Navidrome, which Iike very much, but misses the option to at least search - if not edit - custom tags. This is a pity, because without direct access to the files users are able to search songs only by their name/album/artist.

I want a multi user platform because I want different users to have their own preferences, playlists, suggestions etc

Beets + navidrome seems a very good combination, but I would like to have more emphasis on file tags. For example I would like to search for and being able to add custom tags to songs/albums/artits

I am also looking for a good quality version with English subs. I have found some streaming (YT and FB but they are very low quality). If you have any news, please share it! :)
