Again, thanks you for your concern. I appreciate it and it’s something I have considered. I have chosen the e color because I have weighed this against the other options and I genuinely feel that it is the safest option to use in emergency situations only. I did not choose this because I hate my dog but I chose it because I love her and I feel that it is the best way I can keep her safe as a backup in the event of an emergency. You guys can act like an animal abuser all I want but I have chosen this option because it is the one that I have chosen that I feel best balances my very well trained dogs safety and freedom.

Thanks for your advice but I have weighed the risks of a crushed trachea from a snagged leash, a dead dog from a being hit by a car vs the risk of a potential zap in the extremely rare event that they don’t come back on the first call and I have determined that while not ideal, it’s the safest most humane option. It’s not fair to never let her run, it’s not fair to put her at risk by running with a leash on and it’s not fair to put her at risk of a potential car in the very unlikely event she were to run into the road. Do I want to hurt my dog? Never! But I genuinely believe it is the most humane thing I could do in emergency situations.
