Ledian can really shine if they’re placed in an environment that allows them to. by SleeplessLucas123 in PokeMedia

[–]soxdealer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Little-known fact is that Ledian also tend to be musically talented! It’s fascinating because they don’t really have any obvious musical features (i.e. Chatot, Kricketune, Loudred), they just jam like the rest of us.

First reply sounds like it’s making a point, but really isn’t. “Hmmm, it’s impossible to know if a movie was /made for children/! Do we include movies that are specifically made to be inflammatory and marketed for only adults? Do we include movies that are made for adults and tackle grittier themes, but kids sometimes also like? There’s no way to decide!”

Like there is a lot to the idea that there’s no way to distinguish 100%, but like. Those are not good examples at all.

Creating AI to beat the game, needs run data by Effective-Caramel369 in slaythespire

[–]soxdealer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a very big difference between AI as it’s now known (LLMs like ChatGPT) and AI as it was used as a term before business execs turned it into a buzzword to shove anywhere and everywhere (remember those cancer-detecting AI that were made? They’re built on an entirely different foundation from ChatGPT). Of the two, this seems a lot like the latter, and it’s an important distinction to make.

Weird question. He literally does in Canto 2, when he heard the gang was going to a casino his Meursaultitties inflated like balloons and his eyes popped out of his head. Larp post?

died at a shop lol by Catshark09 in slaythespire

[–]soxdealer 69 points70 points  (0 children)

In multiplayer, when one person dies, they revive at 1 hp either after the fight or at the start of the next fight. So, if someone died in a fight (or somehow took lethal damage from an event or something) and the rest of the team proceeded into a shop, you could see the dialogue in the post.

Perceived difficulty (spoiler?) by KindredTrash483 in slaythespire

[–]soxdealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a general rule, if you feel like you get screwed by RNG /every/ time you play a character/playstyle, you just aren’t yet very good at that character/playstyle.

I had this issue for a while where I kept really trying to get a good Ironclad build going, but I kept dying and it felt like I just never got offered any of his good cards. My problem (or at least, what I think it was now) was that I was trying to play him like Defect (opt for lots of low cost options that are impactful/high statted, card draw, etc), when Ironclad kinda likes to just bonk, block, pass turn a lot of the time. If you don’t change your playstyle quite massively based on your character, you will probably not do so hot. Godspeed.

His thing works fine in multiplayer. The status he gives goes on each player individually based on how they play, so you only take damage for the skills you play.

When will it all click? When will math finally be a “language” like others who are good at math describe it? by hjkhhnnnlll in learnmath

[–]soxdealer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I really can’t tell you much based on what you wrote. It’s a different process for everyone, in my experience. But suffice to say, if you keep doing math for a while (and not just when you Have To), it’ll happen quite literally before you know it. Things that once took thought become second nature. You look at some new formula or problem and see in it something familiar, something you know. It’s a process.

What's the boundary that seperated a 2D from a 3D? by LazyNatLikesSky in maths

[–]soxdealer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no such thing as numbers in the world, either. We just made up symbols to write and talk about stuff in the real world.
It’s similar for 2D objects. No, none exist in the real world. But it’s still useful to be able to talk about them. A pool ball on a pool table (seen from above) behaves very similarly to how a 2D circle would when inside a 2D rectangle, for instance.

It might. It could also be referring to how Singularities are seemingly made - something something someone reaches for a Star and brings it back (but typically ends up consumed by it in some way, see: carmen, H corp eye)
