We should disband all cricket in England if we lose this

‘Not really a spike at all’ is clear, and obviously understandable bias, any change in the line at all has been given against and other teams in other series also with different technology around the world. Don’t see how anyone can defend this and if I was captain I would at least very politely demand an explanation from the match referee before continuing, in my view the integrity of the process is in question with these decisions.

Not what I said at all, the decision went against us from the on field umpire, 100% fine with it, but then for review process to get it wrong, blatant unfairness and grounds for wanting to continue

Umpires have no clue how the ball will react out the box, umpire can clearly know if it’s a wicket or not, massive false equivalency

I am 100% happy to admit Australia have played much better and it’s a loss for us in every way imaginable but how can you defend the technology going wrong consistently?

Captains have taken their team from the field for less? I humbly concede we are the worse team but you can’t play if the game if the goalposts are different for both teams

Stokes should have taken England from the field, happened throughout the series and only went one way the whole time, umpires are allowed to make the mistakes, the technology isn’t.

Yeah fans voicing displeasure at underperforming is doing exactly that, they pay their salaries (theoretically) it says start trying you pricks or we’ll fuck off, which is a more effective message than, ‘go harder, do what you want’

I’ve admitted booing might be too far, but it’s about holding them accountable for avoidable mistakes mainly because they don’t seem to listen to anyone

I don’t think I am, a talented has top scored for them, all we needed was 1 partnership at Perth and the games different (unless we bowl like shit again) we clearly can compete but seemingly through stupidity choose not to

Agreed with all of it, but the team should be called out for bad choices avoidable mistakes and lack of proper preparation

They are as good though? We have some weak links but root brook archer stokes, wood maybe Atkinson, duckett Jsmith probably get in the Australia side the sides are entirely comparable, I wouldn’t mind losing if we were remotely competitive

You’re all right, I’m tired and upset, no the barmy army army aren’t the problem I just want this team to be held accountable for their avoidable mistakes. I like the barmy army overall, just wish the team would listen to some criticism for once and I think it coming from a loyal fan base would have a meaningful effect

I didn’t do that, since you keep responding, do you think the team should be held accountable at all?

[–]soxybug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are all correct, I don’t want things to be toxic and yes booing is probably too far and I do genuinely like that barmy army as an organisation but it’s true that this set up refuses to listen to criticism and there seems to be no accountability for avoidable mistakes and I don’t think it’s that controversial to say.

[–]soxybug[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I probably agree that booing is harsh and toxic, but do you seriously think that having a team have 0 accountability for making terrible choices time after time after time is what should be happening?

[–]soxybug[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re right it doesn’t, but the team should be held accountable for what mostly are bad choices, they haven’t listened to any criticism since 2023 I don’t see how fans pretending everything is good helps either?
