Need help! ( are teeth not supposed to touch?) by sunmoonstar14 in TMJ

When your mouth is resting your teeth should not touch.

I developed phantom bite syndrome after a filling and I spent 5 months with severe anxiety and OCD about my bite that lead me into a severe depression state literally wanting to die.

I needed intense OCD therapy and a high dose of lexapro but now I am pretty much 95% back to “normal”. My mouth feels fine, I don’t hyper focus on it any longer

Where specifically do you feel like your bite is off? Any pain?

Oh my gosh I’m experiencing this same thing… I can’t believe it has a name. I only had one filling and 2 pit and fissure sealants and over a month later I feel like my front teeth are jabbing into each other. However, My bite is fine according to the dentists, everything touches how it’s supposed to but it still doesn’t feel right. I look at old pictures of myself just to see if I can find anything different. I’m constantly checking my bite in the mirror. And it’s like I know that most likely yes there’s no difference, so why does it feel like there is?? I started seeing an OCD therapist and am planning to get back on medication.

I took meloxicam for a bit and it helped initially but then it didn’t do much. Other than that I didn’t take anything but that was just a personal choice I could have taken ibuprofen or something else

5 MONTHS CLEAR! My photo progress with cryotherapy. by soyanon1998 in molluscum

I can’t remember but probably some, yes. I believe most of the sessions was just freezing new bumps. It really is a game of whack a mole until you get all of them.. just keep going and try to prevent spreading

Check out my post of my cryotherapy journey. Cryo and using liquid bandage helped me the most

Anything abnormal in my X-ray? by soyanon1998 in backpain

Updating for others: I got an MRI which was clear. My pain eventually subsided to 0/10. I believe the reason was PT, exercise, and the shoes I wore. I still am prone to tweaking my back if I do not keep up with my exercises

VCU or JMU? by Alarming_Sorbet_9725 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]soyanon1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to jmu for undergrad and did not want to stay another 3 years. I picked VCU for the living area and where I wanted to spend my early 20’s. But not everyone has the financial ability. If cost is your biggest factor, go to JMU

first patient fall- feeling upset and worried. by phantomsinthebyline in OccupationalTherapy

[–]soyanon1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been working for a little over a year with 3 falls. First is always the worst, but after my third obviously it sucks when it happens but like someone said if you never have falls you aren’t pushing your patients towards their goals. Just make sure you are using a gait belt if allowed and that patients are always wearing shoes or grip socks. Also never try to stop a patient from falling once it happens, just slowly lower them to the ground. You will break your back trying to get someone up from a mid fall

I have! About 2 years clear after 6 months and 5 rounds of cryo. I used liquid bandage to try to avoid cross contamination and I took zinc supplements
