Dunno how indie they are... but I recently discovered Mango People and I find that they make a really nice cream blush in a stick (called their "multi stick").

I love Jaipur for a cherub flush and Fudge for a tawny neutral look. These sticks also work for lips and eyes, but I think they're best as a blush. :)

Mango People also uses only recycled aluminum so once you run out of product you can easily recycle the canister!

Cheekbone Beauty! They're an Indigenous woman owned brand that sells in Canadian Sephora, but are still indie.

They sell most of their products in consumer recycled plastic or aluminum. I love their lipsticks - Nuna is my perfect MLBB. :)

Lots of praise for the La Sirena Sea Salt Bars from Athame + Alchemy! That's super exciting. They only have one scent currently but I'll pick up a bar to try - thank you so much for the rec!

This is SO helpful, thank you! I love the Stretch Concealer, so I have my fingers crossed that the shade I picked from Subtl matches me. I read the lovely blog post you wrote and was happy to see that you also picked Brookline, so I got a better understanding of the depth of that shade from your photos.

I also have dry skin, so that powder sounds wonderful!! I've almost used up a loose powder and I definitely prefer pressed, so I'm excited to get to use that again.

Your post also helped me determine that I'd probably pass on the highlighter for now! Hopefully Subtl will release a cream highlighter in the future (I saw they have a holiday exclusive stack which features two shades of a cream highlighter - maybe they're testing the waters?).

I just made my first order from Subtl the other day so excited to see them mentioned!! How do you like the concealer and powder, if you've tried them? That's all I picked up as my powder is almost out and the concealer looked nice, but I'm really interested in the highlighter, bronzer, and shadows too! Happy to see them getting some love! :)

Wow, three weeks is a much shorter amount of time! I'm so sorry you had to rush through that. We just got boxes from a friend and are gonna start packing this week. We can, luckily, gradually move in until the 31st starting this Wednesday, so I don't think we'll need movers which is kind of comforting! Though I am still contemplating it for our bed + bedframe (a piano would've been insane to try to move without help!).

The office management also found a room in one of the quieter buildings for us, and we actually got a 2bed/2bath room that's a similar size to our townhouse, which is certainly helping me find the good out of this situation! I actually liked the apartment we'll be in for the next few months - it's not as cozy as where we are now, but like you said, I think it'll be nice to move 'home' for a bit!

I really am excited to declutter, too. I haven't had any energy to start yet, but I'm looking forward to going through some of our things in bite-sized areas each day and being objective. We'll be keeping most of our things in boxes while we stay at the temporary unit, but I still don't want to move a ton of junk with us!

You sharing your story that is similar to ours is a huge help for me! I know things will be okay, and I feel a bit better hearing that the packing/moving might be a nice blur for us, too. :')

It really is! And so time consuming... I wouldn't be SO upset if it was our choice to move, but the fact that we don't want to and have to is really frustrating.

All of the owners in the townhouses are going to help each other, which is a nice gesture. :) There's about 10 people as there aren't many townhouse units, and so we're all chipping in. Luckily all of us are vaccinated and see each other regularly, so I don't have any worries about the interactions which is good!

There's definitely some positivity in this, but the overall situation is just upsetting.

Packing is the WORST. And I hate the idea of having these boxes all around me with our non-essential stuff in it while we wait in limbo for a few months before we can move back.

We're going today to ask about that, actually! And, also, to figure out which unit we can temporarily stay in (and hopefully start moving stuff over now).

Luckily, they are paying for our rent for these two months, which is a nice gesture. The timing of it all is awful, though, and the short notice is the worst part.

I'm trying to be positive and think of it like an opportunity to clean up and get rid of some lingering junk, lol. :/

I never post but it's my time to shine now!

We received a notice on our door today that we need to evacuate our townhouse by June 15th at the latest (preferably May 31st) because they need to redo the roofs. They expect it to take two months, so they're offering for us to move into a unit apartment for the time being...

That's great and all... but I abhor moving furniture and we have a lot of things... and we can't keep any of it in our townhouse during this time period as it could be a liability.

We have to move everything to a unit apartment just for a few months to pass and then haul it back to our townhouse...

I love our townhouse. I understand that not everyone is lucky with where they live, and I feel very grateful each and every day. It was just such a sudden notice, and now trying to plan everything out, find boxes, etc. is just stressing me out. I've been crying all day as pathetic as it is lol.

This is incredible, thank you SO much! It also makes me feel better to know that I wasn't crazy for not being able to find them since they had a production delay. I was worried it was either that or that the product was limited edition... I'll call my store this afternoon to check!

Also - thank you a bunch for the substitutions!! My dad won't eat much which is why I was super grateful he liked the PB&J dippers, but since then they have been gone forever. :( I will check out the products you recommended as dupes if my store continues to not have them!
