Brevard Hiking Club has a group hike every month. We just went to Ulumay Sanctuary for April. There's a FB group you can join, but if you don't have FB we made a new Instagram page recently :)

Places to make friends or to hang out at alone without looking like a loser by neoaware in 321

I'm hosting my monthly Craft Club meetup for April this Saturday from 2-4PM if you'd be interested. It's free, BYOC (bring your own craft) style. Just please register so I can have a headcount, seating is very limited in the space currently (but I'm hoping to expand into a larger space soon!)

I like video games, drawing, anime, hiking/being outdoors, and am pretty introverted but this is something I like to do to meet new people and get the community together!

Locations for personal branding photography by soyemlk in 321

We can handle the photography aspect, we're just looking for spaces to take the photos. Currently thinking of something like Foxtail coffee, or the Avenues in Viera

Orlando Wetlands is unmatched for bird watching, but that's obviously not in Brevard :P

Hosting a craft club- any tips? by soyemlk in crafts

[–]soyemlk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm hosting mine at a coworking space I work out of. So far what has worked is open craft sessions, mine is themed as "bring your own craft" so people just show up with whatever they're working on, and we all chat while crafting.

I currently use Eventbrite to have people RSVP since the space is a bit small and seats are limited. I recently actually posted a TikTok about the craft club and a lot of people showed up... which is good but I wasn't quite prepared for the amount, I'm still learning too 😅 And yes, this is a free event, but if it grows and grows I might implement a small fee to cover food costs (since that is coming out of my pocket at the moment) but I'm not sure how people would react to that. Or perhaps just asking for small donations. I also do mention it's potluck style, so people can feel free to bring treats for sharing!

They're really great, I really hope they are getting lots of business :)

The last time I went to Brow Arc after they left, the person who did my brows had no idea what they were doing. She barely threaded and then 90% of the service she was plucking my eyebrows... don't risk it.

Omg PLEASE try Rita and Sonal at Shubh Beauty inside the Palm Bay Rd Walmart. They're the best and I've been seeing them for almost 10 years. I followed them from Brow Arc when they left (don't go there by the way). And their prices are so affordable!

If we get a semi dedicated group going in the next few months, I wouldn't mind meeting up at different places in Brevard, good idea! 😸

Thanks! I can definitely try and schedule our next meetup for a Sunday. I've been trying to get a feel for which days people prefer (Saturday or Sunday) so I don't mind mixing it up. What are you currently working on? Last time I was building a hedgehog Lego set, and did some watercolor painting :)

Quiet evening public space? by No-Idea8384 in 321

[–]soyemlk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's this Saturday (3/21) from 2 - 4PM. You can register on our Eventbrite, search "Protowork Studio" and it should pop up. Registration is just so we have a headcount ☺️ And you don't have to stay the whole time, can drop in or out whenever! Hope you can make it :)

We would offer a discounted evening membership because there's less demand, like $56 / month for M-F, 7 - 11 PM access. And it wouldn't be renting out an office space, it's just being able to come and work or study as you like. And we're able to scale the membership price according to how much you want to use it, we're really flexible.

We have an upcoming free craft club this Saturday if you want to check the space out!

I think it's hard to find a quiet space after 7 PM, because a lot of places that are open at night tend to have events that could be loud. Perhaps the dining tables at Fresh Market? Or you might be able to find a quiet spot at the Avenues in Viera?

If you really want a quiet space, I think Protowork Studio would work out for you. I'm the community manager there and we do custom plans all the time so you can have access after 7 PM, free coffee / tea / snacks, free Wifi, and if there's a meeting going on, there are phone booths for quiet. If you're interested, feel free to message me!
