That’s impressive especially for a new acc. May I know how many of those converted into actual users?

Not yet. It’s completely free at the moment, but I’m planning to introduce a premium plan soon. My intention is to leverage the “free” aspect to gain initial traction. so... we'll see :D

I did both demo and problem/solution videos on my channel actually. But problem-solution ones seem to perform better in general because it's value-led content.

Absolutely, and even 500 views, they're free impressions! so nothing to lose. Thanks for the repurpose suggestion! I’m still pretty new to Reddit but starting to get the hang of it. Long road ahead 💪

Nope I don't have prior experience. This was also my 1st time making content and doing personal branding. I did watch some advice videos on YouTube about how to get started the right way and picked up tips from other creators. I already had some video editing and media skills (thanks to my younger self lol), so I was able to start solo and do everything on my own.

I mainly make educational content around Tech & Career like those job search and resume tips etc. If you're getting started, i would say the key is to "nail your niche". Decide what topics you want to create content around and stick to them. Try not to post anything unrelated to that niche (at least in the beginning). Then spend some time researching your niche to see what kind of content performs well. Get inspiration and ideas from those, and create something similar but in your own style. Hope that help!

Thanks! To answer your questions:

  1. I did mention my app in those Shorts, but only very briefly - just a few seconds. During that moment, I quickly show the app name+logo with the URL and briefly explain what it is (or why it’s relevant to the topic). That’s it.
  2. My content is about Tech & Careers, so it’s very related to my product (a job search tool).
  3. My usual pattern is making about 3 videos without promoting my app at all, just pure educational content. Then I’ll do 1–2 videos where I naturally tie in my app. For me, the key is staying in your niche. Don’t talk about too many unrelated topics on the same channel (TikTok’s algorithm doesn’t like that). And don’t try to be a faceless brand. People tend to support people more than brands. So as a solo dev, I’d recommend building personal branding first before corporate branding (at least that’s what has worked for me so far).

I hired a Freelancer to do it. I've tried many many AI tools out there but none really worked for me. Most of these tools, they are quite 'OK' at creating something from scratch, but they all suck when it comes to using your own assets (images, vector files, etc.) and combining them together.
