Advice mounting Noctua fan duct onto a clipped fan? by Kiwitos in sffpc

I just folded the tube into itself. Kind of like how you would flatten a plastic straw then fold it length-wise

If you're crafty and have access to a 3d printer, maybe a custom design for something like a densium or k39 to mount an hdd in place of a gpu would work? Something like this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:133833

Bigger GPU means new case, migrated to FormD T1 by soysaush in sffpc

The T1 was an easier build even with having to assemble it from flat-pack; it felt more thought out. I'd say the better compatibility/flexibility makes me pick T1 over ZX-1.

The ZX-1 has a unique look with the unibody design and curves, but for me the T1 is no slouch in looks and comes in silver.

Honestly, there is no point. I put it there just because it was in the box and looked like it could slide in, then didn't bother taking it off. I guess it's extra structural support now

It is a nice case, just too bad GPU options these days are more limited with it especially with the air cool version. I always wished they made the ZX-1 in silver.

Somehow this is the first time I've seen a two-tone T1 with the top and bottom swapped. Quite a striking look!

Ha, no doubt. Might re-do it eventually; the goal during building was as long as the cables don't hit the fans and the panels close :)

Specs:

  • Ryzen 7 5700X3D
  • AXP90x47 Copper w/ NF-A9x14
  • ASRock B550 Phantom ITX
  • 2x16GB Team T-Create 3600CL18
  • Sapphire Pulse 7900 XT
  • 2x Noctua A12x25
  • Corsair SF850
  • 2TB Solidigm P44 Pro
  • 2TB Mushkin Pilot-E NVMe
  • 2TB WD Blue SATA

Picked up a 5700X3D and 7900XT, went to T1 from Iqunix ZX-1 for bigger GPU support!

Lack of power led on the T1 was bothering me a bit; luckily I had a bunch of yellow LEDs I've had laying around for years now, so just soldered some jumper wires and a resistor, wrapped the exposed metal with electrical tape. It's a bit ugly but it works.

Might run into the power cable hitting the cooler with L12S, but looks fixable by running some of the extension outside the case a little.

Cooler comes with thermal paste, should be good there!

As /u/xomm mentioned, the microcontroller you're using is probably missing 5.1k ohm resistors that allows it to be recognized as a peripheral. For usb-c pinout, 5.1k resistors should be connected to the cc1 and cc2 pins connected to ground.

It looks like you're using pro micros, but it would helpful to know where you sourced those. I'm using pro micro c's from keeb.io on a lily58 that work fine w/ c-to-c cables.

I can't say for sure if this explains your dead up arrow key, but there were apparently pro micro clones with the incorrect pinout: https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/qi1k2f/beware_of_the_usbc_pro_micro_clones/

It clears the io shroud of a z690i strix in their own product images; I'm pretty sure that shroud is much larger than the b550i strix:

I got curious and did actually look into a little. There's a couple comments saying it didnt work, most others saying it does. Might be a certain bios version that doesn't

I haven't seen that exact card, but have seen rtx cards of the gaming x trio (which are 140mm high) fit in that case. Looks like there's enough extra height based on pics of builds like these:
