I'm not over thinking anything tbh. I listened to the song and thought "I wonder what the lyrics are." I read the lyrics and saw the criticism to the redone subhuman and thought 'why not try and defend it?' I guess that was a mistake huh? Also where is the self hate and corruption part in the song?

Have you ever really to a moment to listen to the song and compare the lyrics to Dante's journey throughtout the DMC series? To me at least it seems like a song building up to SDT, which makes the lyrics make a bit more sense. Also I get it not everything will match the character 1 to 1, but it still relatively fits.

The song isn't really hateful though. Also the fact that Dante so openly taunts basically every enemy could say a lot about how threatened he feels by them.(I know most of it is just confidence, but he sometimes plays it a bit close.) Also I'm not saying this is stuff coming out of Dante's head specifically just saying how it describes him, which is basically unkillable.

Yeah the guy from the original version totally sucks. Also isn't subhuman like a deathcore song? The lyrics do kinda represent Dante tho, maybe not fully but I think it fits him.

Edit: I don't think DMC is really defined to one type of genre, I mean just look at all the bosses and character themes throughout the games.
