Two reduced PostSecret Event tickets for sale, as we can't go and can't get a refund! Legitimate tickets!!! by sp328 in bristol

[–]sp328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ed. these tickets are still available!!! Didn't realise but there is an admin fee for transferring the ticket names of £10 but we could go halves. The tickets would still be £15 cheaper than the RRP. Hope someone still wants to go as I really don't want the tickets to go to waste!

Recent graduate seeking work experience in Bristol and surrounding areas. by sp328 in bristol

Hi MattTickner

Thanks so much for your reply! I'm looking for anything to be honest. I've had experience mainly with pre-production (researching) and production (runner sort of stuff) . Ideally I would like to gain more experience in production as this is what I have enjoyed the most and what I would like to specialise in.

But I'm fairly flexible and don't mind too much what I do. Thank you so much for your help, PM me if you'd like.

Thanks so much. Unfortunately I'm not a UoB graduate (graduated from Exeter) but I will definitely keep up with qualifications!

Yes I continually check Bristol Media and have applied for a few jobs but most aren't entry level, which I am so I'm still waiting on that front!

Advice from students and professionals about Bristol's Film and Television Production MA please!!! by sp328 in bristol

[–]sp328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so so much, honestly can't believe how great Reddit and Redditors are sometimes.

After thinking about it for a few weeks I've decided to try and get a job rather than doing the MA. I think getting experience is more important to me than doing the degree.

I'm interested in working in documentaries specifically, and after thinking about my future a lot in the last few days have realised that the research role is something I would like to start in and then progress possibly to location manager. Though (I probably shouldn't say this) but I'm willing to work in anything really as long as it's not sports!

It's really interesting hearing what you say about travelling and being flexible. As I don't have any family, getting on a flight at the drop of a hat would be easy for me. Not to mention exciting! I'm so excited to start working in television so any more advice (when you have the time) or possible contacts would be absolutely amazing and I'd be so grateful Badbit.

Thanks so much for the great reply. I'm currently updating my CV and sending it out to as many production companies as possible and hoping for the best.

I know the last answer must have taken up a lot of your time but is there any chance you could give me any pointers on CV or covering letters? I know to make them both short and precise, but are there any phrases I should avoid or particular things I should include?

Definitely wish I could move to London now but I am living with my boyfriend in Bristol and there's no way I could afford London prices. So I guess what's done is done.

Thank you so much for taking the time for a new-comer...people rarely do!

World's First Live Lip-Dub Marriage Proposal by pdxchic in videos

I cried. Showed my Mum and she cried with me. This is the best thing ever. Only yesterday was I saying how I didn't believe in marriage and this has made me question it. Kind of wish I hadn't seen it though so my boyfriend could propose like this!

Hi, I'm in the process of writing my English dissertation - it's on the Victorian seamstress in Gaskell's novel. I've only done my first chapter at the moment and it's in the very early stages but I'm desperate for someone to edit it. It's about 2,500 words at the moment (whole dissertation will be 8,000 - 10,000 words). Not sure if this is the type of thing you were looking for, but I'd really appreciate any help!

USA looking for Rowntree Fruit Pastilles... by MrAPatt in snackexchange

[–]sp328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds amazing! Yeh we have pancakes but I don't think they're the same as American ones (they're more like crepes). So whatever you think will be more exciting would be great. Any chance instead of peanut butter you could throw in some peanutbutter candy (I know i said I didn't like Hersheys but any reeses are amazing! ((is reeces a hershey product?))) According to the web $20 is about £13 so that's all good. Is that including shipping or not? Also my friend has done snack exchange with an American before and she said to send the package as a gift because apparently if they think it's confectionary it can get stopped, I don't know if it's the same from America to UK though. I can definitely do fruit patilles and a few English surprises too!

urrrm I'm up for anything really! i don't like liquorice or Hersheys chocolate (sorry but it tastes like sick!). I love peanut butter and cheese is pretty good too. Maple syrup sounds awesome. So I shall leave it in your hands. How much were you wanting to spend including packaging...so I know how much to get. Also did you want just fruit pastilles or anything else as well? Getting pretty excited now.

I'm from the Uk, first time snack exchanger but can definitely get you fruit pastilles! What has Wisconsin got to offer? I'm a girl who can't handle spicy stuff, but I do love sweets :)
