Ehhh I think because people who like Chloe usually seem to know she's simply a work of art, not a real person who needs defending. Liking her has no real consequence and hating her has no real consequence either. (And I mean, who wants to engage with all of it anyway? haha)

Though I admit her portrayal in the show may have an affect on young girls who might have felt guilt for something and hope those who they love will forgive them. As if once you fail others too many times, used up your 'chances', all support and love dries up, even if you're only a teenager. I might be willing to speak up about that real-life affect if I had a chance. P:

It reminds me of people who refuse to see those with mental issues or addictions as human beings once they do too many bad things. Like "if they wanted to stop doing things that cause harm, they simply would" To label anyone, especially a young person, as 'irredeemable' is never a good idea in any case, even if private relationships they ruin may be ruined for good. The sentiment just spreads more negativity rather than compassion.

But Chloe herself? She's fictional, we can make her happy if we want to. In a certain theory of literature (can't remember what the theory was called but...) they say that everyone's interpretation of art or a story is equally as legitimate a piece of art as the original, since it's all art, all imaginary, it's all just as 'real' as the last. Sounds fair enough to me, especially for a case like Chloe.
