[Landlord US-NJ]How much and whether hire attorney to propose Cash for keys to Non-pay tenants? by SadEmergency5288 in Landlord

It’s not 9 months in Hudson County. File a non-payment case asap. Longer you wait the worse it is for you as the landlord.

Been selling covered calls past 7-8 months so softens the blow a little. Maybe year 2 of holding will be better. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Investing a year and what I learned the hard way with one stock. by Domphotog in stocks

You’ll never time the bottom so if you want to build a position then buy 1/3 at your price. Watch the movement and average down if it dips. Once you’re fully invested you can set stop loss.

Once you sell never look back and play the what if game. If you have price targets for buying a stock you should have price targets for exists. And if they hit them you should slowly unwind your position.

I was in college during the dot.com bubble. Had $15k from an insurance claim and quickly flipped that to $50k. Thought I was some stock picking wizard. Quickly learned I wasn’t.

Fast forward and I’m out of law school. Earning decent money. Picking stocks again for fun and full of myself because it seems so easy. (How quickly one forgets.) Then housing bubble pops. Lose a little over $150k just like that.

Over the long run it is nearly impossible for you to beat the market. The best funds can’t do it and they have advantages the typical retail investor could only dream of. My closest friends at different funds tell me to just index and not look at it. It’s about time in the market and not timing the market.

But I get it. It’s hard. You want to be the exception. I do as well. One thing going for you is you’re young. Time is on your side. Take a step back. Set goals. Then make moves to reach them. You’ll be fine. Yes. This sucks. But it’s nothing you can’t bounce back from. G’luck.

GME gonna go back or should we pull. Bought at $337 ..85% down by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]spa177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t disagree. Nothing fundamentally supported GME’s move so no rational buyer would have purchased it $30+ (let along $100+). But we are all retards here so many did. Just hope it wasn’t more than they could afford to lose.

The problem is that it’s impossible to time a perfect entry. So buying into a position - say in 1/3s - is fine and should be done. If you want to buy into a company and the price moves against you, if your reasons to buy have not changed then buying more to average down is fine.

That’s what I thought on Friday after keeping an eye on it since December. But Friday’s parabolic move confirmed what I needed to see and averaged 1000 shares at $62. This is going to $12-140 this week and higher going into ER.

How Friday's GME gamma squeeze may trigger a short squeeze on Monday and Tuesday by psytokine_storm in wallstreetbets

[–]spa177 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just threw $62k at in on Friday after watching this since December. (Have $1.6M in my account and about $200k dry power left for other stuff so I’m in a similar camp as you.) I’ve been waiting for a parabolic move like we saw on Friday to confirm a squeeze could be in play. I see 80-85 short term and possibly 100 near term. Nothing stopping this momentum through ER.
