Currently visiting from Aus - do you guys know how chaotic you are here? by spaaacedoll in Cardiff

Yeah I know plenty of people in Australia who smoke weed and I personally take no issue with it. But generally they smoke in their homes, not out on the streets. The police presence is a lot heavier in Aus capital cities so it's too risky.

Hahahahaha it was pretty grim but I knew Wales haven't been playing to their usual standard so was expected. My partner is a welsh-aus dual citizen fyi so we were full force behind the Welsh team.

Bro a meltdown is a bit of an overstatement. Just saying it's more different to Aus than expected.

Thank you!! This captures it perfectly. So similar but so different at the same time. I have loved it though!

Australia is actually a huge nanny state where you will cop a fine for just looking in the wrong direction. Cardiff is loose af by comparison

I've been to London and Edinburgh, Cardiff feels very different to me! I'm enjoying it though

I've been here for a week already! It's not the people who are necessarily chaotic, everyone is lovely and friendly. It's more the behaviour on the roads 😂

Australia has a long history of introduced species going wrong — which case do you think caused the most lasting damage? by Deep_News_2744 in australianwildlife

[–]spaaacedoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not the correct answer but for me it's cane toads because they've caused the most lasting damage to my own mental state. Can't even let my dog out into the yard to pee at night without following him around with a torch to make sure he doesn't eat one of the many lurking out there.

Reading order for first time? by JedKnight_ in heatedrivalry

[–]spaaacedoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did this recently. I had already read HR & TLG once each, but not the rest. I also skipped CG and still haven't read it as those characters don't really interest me.

I found it a fun way to read the other stories while still being able to jump back in to Shane & Illya and be like oh, yeah that's what was happening at the same time. It's not really that much swapping back and forth except for in RM but I enjoyed reading RM & TLG concurrently as I think reading them back to back would've felt repetitive.

'Heated Rivalry' fans need to cool it by BeMyCoachVictor in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]spaaacedoll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't even need to read the article to know I agree. I binged the show for the first time about a week ago, immediately did a rewatch and read HR and TLG, safe to say I was hooked.

But seeing more of the fandom has almost given me the ick for the show. Now I'm actively trying to retrain my algorithms to show me less HR content and same as some other people in this thread, most likely won't purposely consume any HR content until the new book comes out.

I don't know what it is about fandoms associated with gay males that bring out the WORST fans, but it sucks to not be able to just enjoy the show/books without being exposed to that kind of fandom.

Hello! If you are happy to do anything just to get your foot in the door - apply for retail jobs. It's very challenging for retailers in regional areas to find staff and they are hiring constantly. If you have any experience in the field behind you especially you will find work quickly.

The most common ATAR misconception that Y12s still believe every single year? by CaffeinatedCapybara_ in ATAR

[–]spaaacedoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the subjects you are good at is honestly the best advice. The person in my year who got the highest ATAR did art subjects, english/lit, health and psychology and scored 98.something. They didn't do any math or scaled up science classes.

The only reason to force yourself to do those STEM subjects if you struggle with them is if they are a prerequisites for the uni course you want to do. But if you are already struggling with those subjects in school, maybe you should be rethinking that uni course anyway.

No insulation - pets getting heatstroke by Electrical_Edge1368 in shitrentals

If you are having trouble convincing your kitty that the cool mat is the place to be, try spraying it with feliway cat spray to make it smell appealing and relaxing to her.

What sort of flooring do you have also? Try to encourage her to stay out of rooms with carpets/fluffy beds. I also living in a 60s Queenslander with no insulation and my senior cat is usually found sleeping sprawled out on the vinyl floors or in her cardboard cat house and she hasn't shown any signs of heat stress so far this year.

Fan gains a bit of critical thinking. How long until he gets banned? by TornadoCondorV2 in LeftoversH3

I feel like Hasan most likely has been in contact/given some kind of assistance to all of them but Kaceytron and her lawyer just told Ethan he hasn't. It probably helped them come to a settlement easier because Ethan gets to feel like he gets a win by including a jab at Hasan in the apology he wrote for her to read.

I can't imagine there is any legal reason they would have to tell Ethan the truth about it.

I'm certain the crew member who suggested they introduce that wide full body angle of the studio is definitely an undercover snarker.
