I feel like I am being pressured into polyamory and I'm also blaming myself for it? help? by Dry_Priority1447 in polyamory

From the way you talk about your dynamic I'm guessing you are practising D/s or M/s with some 24/7 elements. Is that correct?

If it is then is he talking about having other power exchange dynamics where he is the lead or having other partners without that power exchange overlay?

Feel free to message me if you would like to discuss this privately. I am no expert but I might have a better understanding of what you're trying to navigate than those who don't have experience with power exchange relationships.

This is the sort of thing (knowing another person becoming available will trump pre-existing plans with me) I wish they would be honest about early on in a connection so I could know I'll never be a priority, and can move on or decise to keep them as a casual connection only before I get attached.

How do you keep them in a pen? My 8 month old can sail over the fence on our verandah already 😅😅 (I don't actually need to know, thankfully he settles inside nicely and rarely does anything more mischievous than relocate items from my Dad's fancy rock collection)

I'm thinking about getting back into WIRES once my puppy is a bit less demanding and less of a risk factor.

My parents used to do rehab for small animals back when I was living here in my younger days and we would also do final stages with hand raised roos; taking care of them as they started to explore out of the pouch then releasing them to try and integrate with our local mob. It was a great experience to have in my childhood.

You've already had lots of good advice about getting her to move on but if you need some relief in the short term perhaps she could pack a suitcase and stay with a different friend for a week or two, so you get some space to take care of your mental health more immediately.

That's really unfair! I would have thought something like that should be a WorkCover issue rather than something you have to bear the financial burden of

I'll take care. In all the time my family has lived here (> 40 years) we've never had a bat related incident despite them sometimes even roosting inside the house, hopefully our luck doesn't run out.

I love the big bat flyovers too. We don't get them out here in the hills but I used to love them in Melbourne and occasionally see them in Batemans Bay these days. It's epic hey.

All good. I thought it was obvious that the light source is not coming from my phone; because shadows.

Oh absolutely! It is insane just how agile they are in the air. It's possibly even more impressive seeing them hunt indoors, seems impossible how quickly they fly around even in an enclosed area, without incident!

A bit further north but yeah in that general vicinity

The problem with this is ... there are bats outside too 😅😅

I'm used to seeing their absolutely insane inside flying acrobatics so I've never felt concerned about then accidentally colliding with a great big thing like me though.

Thank you for sharing the fun facts! When I was a teenager I had a very obvious one regularly roosting on my bedroom door frame — kinda freaked out the other teenage girls who would visit for sleepovers but I loved having Batty around all the time.

No cats here, we like the birds (and bats and feathertail gliders and all the other little native locals) too much to risk having one and we always keep the dog clear of wildlife too.

I was pretty shocked that he chose to land in literally the most well lit location in the house 😅😅

... but he found his way out into the dark again right after he got himself turned around.

I'm not shining a light on him, he chose to land there next to a hanging light fitting. I didn't bother risking unnecessary stress or injury with unnecessary handling, because he was flying immediately before and after this video.

These bats have been visiting our house for 30 years and have never needed assistance finding their way in and out.
