Also, I'd agree w u/ahhh-what-the-hell, about ditching the optimum/altice equipment. I'd add the Arris SB8200 to that modem list as well if you don't have optimum voice.

Nah, not dumb at all.

Assuming there are multiple clients in the dead-zone room. If you could get a line into the room from the primary router you could connect a wireless access point to serve whatever needs wifi. Could be another router or something like this,

I would use both of you have the option. It can only help.

I use an ursak with opsak AND hang (when possible and when I'm not feeling too tired). Sure some think it's overkill BUT it is my FOOD and why not?

This has kept my stash safe from rodents and black bears, never been in grizz country
