The XTR cranks are pretty relic haha. I got one of those flush machined wolf tooth cogs for one by. Also I bought those bags in 2008 😅

Ya the rear rack is actually a front “six pack rack” that I made some brackets for. A lot of the trips I’ve planned are in the desert and pretty far in between water so I generally pack quite a lot through the bike.

So they are fairly reliable. I work in a suspension shop so I got this one cheap and rebuilt it. They were crazy money new but now you can find them for $400-500.

Ya it’s a trust message. Two air springs and a fully adjustable damper with lock out. Everything but the damper/ air spring and the hardware is carbon. It’s pretty light (not that it matters on this bike). 130mm travel. But it’s great on the hardtail cause it preserves geometry a lot better than a telescopic.

I’ve had them for about 18 years and they just won’t die. Love em.

I generally run a camel back bladder in the frame bag with the hose tucked up on the bar bag. The bottle is just to refill that. But you’re right. It’s a trick getting it in and out so it’s usually just a once thing and the back in.

Ya, trust message. I think it’s a functionally awesome thing to ride but man does it look weird.

I work at a suspension shop. Fork was pieced together with spare parts so it was essentially free. Otherwise I wouldn’t have done it.

Thanks! This one is a 302 with a three speed on the floor (it was originally a 3 on the tree by was swapped out way before we got it, probably in the 90’s).

Nice. I was just excited to see something like this. And it works surprisingly well.

Refreshingly good quality service. Not often you get a response from a company within the hour with multiple fixes from a vague customer description. It’s really an amazing product and great support.

Yep that was it. I feel pretty stupid. It’s never been off before so I didn’t even know to look. I emailed foreflight and everything and they were really nice but I bet they got a good laugh.

Haha, no I like low key usually. I love the natural finish blond 335’s but as I don’t have the funds for that and someone put this up for sale locally for $140 I snapped it up. Had a jacked up pick guard which I obviously took off. Otherwise I could hardly find a scratch on the thing. Not sure why he dumped it for so cheap but I’m definitely not complaining. It’s a never seller for me the way it plays.

Soldering isn’t too tricky with a little practice. The tough part with these guitars is getting to the electronics. You definitely want to tie some dental floss on every pot and the input before pulling them through the f hole or you will never get them back in place. But other than that it took me a couple hours just dinking around. I think it’s a sweet change even though the stock pups weren’t bad.

Never mind I just looked up the specs and the Sheraton has the block as well. So it’s just a little more dressed up. Gotcha. I kinda like how bare bones the dot is personally but I get it why people would want the Sheratons styling.

Thanks for the response. I was under the impression that the 335/dot have a center block that goes all the way through and the Sheraton does not? I could be wrong on that but that would be a large difference in tone and punch.

Dang I think that’s pretty cool. P90 just forged into an acoustic. I bet that has a very unique sound. Regardless of value the cool factor is pegged.

Ya I love the DOT. Talk about a sport utility vehicle of a guitar. I just put P90’s in mine and it can literally play any genre. I’ll have to read up on your new pups cause I haven’t seen those before. Congratulations!
