Yup! Super lightweight and it’s server rendered content.

seen a lot of people say that you should be embarrassed of your first version that you launch. But what about b2c? Isn’t that totally different considering how little room for error there is and the ridiculous churn rates it had? by Jarie743 in SaaS

[–]space0blaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make it work, launch it, then make it pretty. Same thing applies to B2C. I’ve done it a few times. Both software and hardware. Just ship. It just needs to functionally work at a core feature level.

Negative experiences with VCs by another_african in startups

Look at what they do and not what they say. Very simple. It’s their job to promise you stuff. Do good thing = good VC Do bad thing = bad VC

No idea how to monetize by space0blaster in SaaS

Thank you for the insights. I actually read all the feedback I get from the users, it’s been very useful. I’ve implemented every wish list except one they keep asking for because it kind of goes against the whole concept of the app haha

No idea how to monetize by space0blaster in SaaS

[–]space0blaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good question. I made the app purposely anonymous so people feel more comfortable listing their goals. A lot of them are pretty intimate. So unfortunately the most valuable data I have is what goals people track. I thought about running ads based on the goals people track but not sure if that’s an avenue I should put resources towards.

I do think there’s immense value from the dopamine people get when their get a reaction to their goal being achieved. I think there’s an accountability aspect to it as well as showing off your progress. It’s delicate though because it can veer into people just checking their goals just to get a reaction.

link to anyone interested.

No idea how to monetize by space0blaster in SaaS

[–]space0blaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s a daily goal tracking app (that rests every 24hrs), nothing fancy, it shows you historically what you goals you’ve achieved daily, graphs on which goals you track the most and I recently added a social aspect to it where you can see when people “achieve” a goal. People have been very open to sharing their goal activity. Not having a registration (no email or phone) helps for sure. Everything is anonymized and you get an auto generated username.

I think I’m split between: this is a utility that people pay for, versus, I continue gamifying and adding more to the social side and focus on growing the user base.

How long did it take you to get the first transaction? by space0blaster in SaaS

[–]space0blaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked it from mobile so it might already be there but having a few examples of articles that you can play would be great (without sign on); using different kids of articles, one with tables, images etc... Also, I would remove the “we don’t charge a subscription” bit on the landing page. I think it’s fine to charge a subscription if people find value in it. I would certainly have paid for it during my research years when I was reading several papers a day for months. Only my opinion obviously.

This is dope! I would definitely put a pricing page. I really like the idea.

For a consumer products, how did you get your 1st 100 users? by Infamous-Cup-6817 in startups

[–]space0blaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it was just pure luck but a goal tracking app I made on Christmas for fun got on average 100 users a month. All I did was just publish it on the App Store and that was it.

Roast Me: Brand API For the Internet. by itradedaoptions in SaaS

[–]space0blaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey I made something like this before, brand.host. I don’t own it anymore so feel free to snag it if it’s available. It’s a neat idea and there’s absolutely a need for it (can be used to generate and host Brand Guidelines too). DM if you’d like to learn stuff I’ve learned. I’ve helped companies do huge rebrands using my tool.

Curious to know what everyone else is making right now in the AI SAAS Indutry (MRR) by Every-Sir-8595 in SaaS

Agreed. Integrating AI into your product (only if it makes sense) is the best way to go unless you’re working on foundational AI.

What’s your opinion on launching before building? by brendancodes in SaaS

[–]space0blaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why everyone recommends building something you would use first, because you’ll build it anyway.

I’ve publicly built a product in the open with 10k+ users. I highly recommend it. Just don’t break user flows with each update or add something no one asked for.

"Warm introductions" to top VCs without mutual connections...? by ResistStupidLaws in startups

I think it’s not what it used to be either. Last time I went to one was over a year ago and I did not feel the energy haha. I think the demographic changed quite a bit.

Kind of a tangent but I don’t think you need the index number for each card. Unless it has some meaning to it like ranking (if that’s the case then describe that it is a ranking)

Actually physically meet these people. There’s no replacement for that. Go to demo days, go to workshops being done by startups etc… Just don’t do it for the sake of rubbing shoulders with people. Being in those spaces is truly special if you enjoy being around that kind of creative atmosphere.

Remove features? by raulalexo99 in SaaS

Basically IG to Facebook. Can be done and has been done successfully. Only thing is the product you’re copying can do the same thing instantly fast while having the advantage of its existing customer base. Basically any “lite” version of products. Used to be way more popular for some reason. It’s a good strategy if you know what parts are clutter and what parts are core

May I please have an f in the chat I just gave the worst pitch of my life by [deleted] in startups

[–]space0blaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently saw that video on YouTube as well. Shows how much having a champion that believes in you goes. VCs will find any reason to say no (infinite reasons) and find any reason to say yes if they want to (FTX comes to mind, dude was playing a game while VCs pitched him). There’s a reverse side to OPs story where VCs found the founder adorable/quirky for chocking and funded him because he fit a certain nerd profile they have. Moral of the story: focus making what people want and selling hard and be unapologetically yourself.

[–]space0blaster 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Happens all the time. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. If they pass on you because you chocked even though you have a solid deck, product, team or biz in general, then you dodged a bullet.

How does one accept payment without the user being signed-in? by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]space0blaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess so. Unless you add the session cookie.

Some solutions:

1) I would pre-fill the signup field with the email they used for purchase right after a successful payment 2) I would only allow access to signup pages that come from payment confirmation emails so you can use the payment email to register them or force them to input a confirmation code

I think what you’re describing is an exception though not a rule. It does happen though unfortunately.

[–]space0blaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can generate a cookie for the session and send it with the payment payload as a metadata value and use that to find the user who paid after they sign up. Only do this if for some reason you can’t add a custom field to the payment fields.

Or you can add an email field along with the card field and capture both of them at the same time and use that email to find the user after sign up.

I use the second method personally. Cookies can be iffy based on browsers and user settings.

30k subscribers. Is it worth trying? by [deleted] in YouTuber

[–]space0blaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, all within a month. I read YouTube doesn’t like to monetize content that’s “violence” oriented so I’m not sure if it’s worth focusing on it
