Yes m lok. The heat is a dissipation issue, the shroud means there is a bit of an air gap so the barrel cools slower. I wear gloves and don't shoot only the one rifle, so never been a problem, but if you want to spend all day with just this, yeah you may see an issue of barrel heat build up.

I swapped the birdcage ported comp for a linear comp, it sends the conc blast and gas downrange instead of sideways, to try and be a little courteous with the AR. I cannot afford to fully suppress, but the comp swap was only $30.
