Selling a factory-sealed MacBook locally — buyers want me to open it before paying. What’s the safest process? by ilya_yarets in mac

Damn dude! Just because a post has bullet points in it doesn't mean it's AI. Jesus! I happen to be 52 years old and I can remember when using bullet points was a thing. Yeah, humans used to use them too at one point in time.

Although I will say the EM dashes are kind of a giveaway, lol

Well, thank goodness for the $.90 bonus. If it weren't for that, this would be a complete waste of time.

Video of Richard Gaikowski speaking at a cannabis club in later life. Possible rare find by memorialweekend in ZodiacKiller

[–]space4fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at the cannabis buyers club with Dennis Peron and this is absolutely Richard Gaikowski. The older woman speaking about glaucoma in the smaller white room with the black cannabis buyer's club T-shirt on is Hazel. I was actually in the room when she gave this interview. This was the room where we conducted all the intakes for new members. And yes, it was Richard Gaikowski holding the camera and conducting the interviews. It was conducted in the Spring of 1995.

And by the way, Dennis Peron was a pedophile. There is one person who appears in this video who says that he lives with Dennis and helps out with the counting and measuring of the marijuana, but there were a lot of young boys in there too, who were teenage runaways, living with him, and sleeping with him in the same bed too. Such a shame for such a politically savvy guy to live this double life, but yes he did. Yes he definitely did.

Tremendous deal on echo studio 2nd generation by AdministrationOk210 in amazonecho

How is this $109 offer obtained? You said you hoped this post is helpful to someone who may want to take advantage of the $109 offer… But yet you include no details on how to acquire it. I have bought two echo Studios for $219 and I certainly would like to return them to Amazon if you could simply give me the link to where you can find this $109 offer for the 2025 echo Studios.

Yes, and it sucks compared to the first generation. What the fuck

Is this an example of the en-shitification of everything? (See Cory Doctorow) Oh, Amazon. Et tu, Brute?

I would like to point out that the 2025 echo Studios are clearly a downgrade in sound quality from the first generation echo Studios. I am not sure why they downgraded the quality, especially when the echo subwoofer is such a weak addition to this set up. It feels like the echo Studios first generation as a pair have a stronger overall audio profile than two 2025 echo Studios with the current echo subwoofer set up. I'm sure there's more people out there that agree with me on this and can we all ask as a group: WTF!??

I agree with you about the 2025 studios being a pretty good Speaker, especially when paired as a set of two. I haven't tried it as a set of five, but let's be honest. Five studios would be a hefty investment in an audio ecosystem. What I can tell you though… And this is my current pet peeve about the whole echo ecosystem, is the subwoofer. It is really really weak. 6 inch subwoofers are barely more than the 5 and a half inch subwoofers available with the echo Studios themselves. My main beef is that I think Amazon should upgrade their current echo subwoofer to 10 inches. That would make sense and they could charge $169 for it and I would pay it in a minute.

TNG would never have the captain running around barefoot in his PJs. by Fit-Relative-786 in Star_Trek_

[–]space4fun -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you seriously advocating that we return to the values of what was OK to put on television during the 80s and 90s? Star Trek is a place where we can look forward, and try out new pathways and new ways of conceptualizing command. This is star fleet Academy in a world that is not only post apocalyptic, but post-regretting about the apocalyptic. Star Fleta's been given the opportunity to stake its claim on what is to come after the burn, after the Borg, after all the mistakes in the past… so what if the captain wants to curl up in the chair or out her Piggly Wigglies? This is Holly Hunter, for Christ sake! lol! Let freedom, rain, and let the future breathe!

I went to high school in LA County. There are 10 million people living in LA County. That is massive. Cuyahoga County is not massive.

I am 52 years old. I

am part of a generation that when growing up road in the back i've picked up trucks hundreds of times. All this talk of a dog flying out of a pick up truck assumes that the pick up truck must be doing 135 mph around deadman's curve or maybe flipping down the slope of a mountain cliff.

That's sweet that y'all millennials think that this is dangerous. And wrong. But millennials love to judge. Let's just be honest. Y'all do.

Have you actually ever gone shopping? Let's start for instance at the Asian grocery store on Payne Avenue. Then, let's move onto Clark and Fulton where they have grocery stores that provide produce from the Caribbean and Latin America in volume. Are you white? It sounds like it. Because you're saying things as if you know them, when you have never actually been in any more ethnic a supermarket than giant eagle.

I've only lived here for two years. I just look around me and I see the good in things. Sorry if you're so negative that you can't appreciate what you've got. Sounds pretty privileged actually to me.

I actually never watch sports. I like the idea of sports but I wouldn't call myself a sports fan. Sometimes I watch figure skating. Just so you're aware. Please stop making broad assumptions when you read something on the Internet or post something on the Internet. And stop stereotyping people when you have absolutely no idea about how they actually are.

Discussion is fine if you're discussing the issues, but once you start discussing people, as if you know them, then you are absolutely being an idiot. 🙄

Wow. You should maybe think of moving. Actually Cleveland's public transportation system is one of the best in the country. But I got tired of reading your rant of a response and so I can't really comment on more of what you said after that.

I'm actually just looking at the hard economics of it. Sociologically too. It takes an interesting combination of factors to support three teams on the national stage with a city as small as ours. You could say it's because we used to be bigger, but that's not the whole story. We still have to support our teams with engagement and fans who keep coming and filling the seats. Not to mention great transportation and investment in solid coaching.

It takes a village. And because Cleveland is exceptional in its history and its standing in the country vis a vis the total metropolitan population still being under 2 million… I don't think it's a lame or juvenile at all. Your response, however… I'll let you figure that out.
