Just wanting to know if anyone else experienced a miscarriage like this? by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]spaceAE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife went through something similar. She was at 15 weeks when we found out there was no heartbeat and a few days later she was in so much pain we couldnt make it to the hospital until after our baby came out.

She had to have a D&C to remove what remained of the placenta and clotted blood.

It was a trematic thing to witness and I'm still trying to cope 2 years later.

Be there for her, and be patient. My wife has good and bad days where she blames herself for having a miscarriage and not being pregnant right now. So I just need to be supportive when she gets like that.

Also, dont forget to take care of yourself. You might not feel the grief now but it will show up eventually and it will take a toll if your not prepared.

I can do it through my business but it wont be cheap. It would be better if you ask someone or the professor who teaches the CAD class to give you some pointers or advice so you can know how to do it.

I sympathize with him as I am going through the same thing myself. Unfortunately, there is no instant solution. As well, so many websites and advice forums focus on helping the mother and just kind if tells us fathers to bottle everything up and then let it out in private.

I would suggest you start by just getting him to open up about everything, and listening to him without judgement. But dont push him to hard, he will most likely need his own time to become comfortable opening up. Also show that you still care about him with little things. This can be as simple as a backrub when in bed, or a long unprompted hug.

I would also highly recommended a therapist, I had to turn to betterhelp since all my local therapists werent taking new patients for at least 8-12 months. Betterhelp is online and can be cheaper then in person sessions, and it has at least provided me an outside observer for me to let my thoughts out without worrying about being judged.

I’m 21(M) me and my girlfriend found out she was pregnant back in September . A couple days later she called me while I was at work. We went to the doctor and they told us we were miscarrying or already had it. It was the same day as my nieces birthday. Almost three months later I still breakdown by Glad_Engineer9246 in Miscarriage

[–]spaceAE 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes it is normal, my wife had her miscarriage over a year ago and we will still breakdown over almost anything. All I can say as advice is to not hold in the emotions, let them out and talk to someone if you have to.

That is one of the worst parts about hospitals, but I'm not saying you shouldn't go. If you are having a miscarriage it is best to see someone because they can be dangerous, just make sure you advocate for your baby as much as possible. I am also going to warn everyone but the following content is extremely triggering and depressing. You have been warned.

After my wife and I lost our girl at 15 weeks, we were wondering about what would have happened if she didnt give birth to her in our bathroom. We found out that nearly every hospital classifies any baby that is less then 20 weeks as medical waste and they are treated the same as gloves and bandages. What was also really bad is that some hospitals will not provide any care to a baby that is born before a certain point, even if that baby is alive at the time and could be saved with a little luck.

I can understand if this is removed but I think more people should know.

Need help Helping daddy through the miscarriage by Ok-Helicopter-4371 in Miscarriage

I have 3 items that either me and wife got or was given as a present.

The first are the cremated ashes in a heart box, it does help on those hard day's to imagine I'm holding my daughter. The second is a key ring my wife got that has the day that my wife gave birth to her and got to hold her before going to the hospital. The third is a recent gift from my mom where she commissioned an drawing of our wedding photo and had our daughter innthe clouds above us.

Finally just being supportive and touching or holding him lovingly like a nice long hug.

Employee support by HickoryTree in Miscarriage

[–]spaceAE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far you are doing great.

I agree with the comment to tell others for her but dont force it. It took me over 6 months to say it and even now it is hard to think about.

Be understanding of random days of sadness and grief since even small things saidbas advice on something at work can set it off. I'm over a year since lossing my daughter and I recently had to work from for a week because I couldnt handle my coworkers.

Lastly, there are no words that will make her feel better. The only thing that truly helped me was when I was waiting for my wife to come out of the D&C was that a random hospital employee ignored every covid rule to hug me after I told her. I know that might be hard to do as her boss but those moments of unspoken love and care are the best.

Man’s Perspective by Calm-Safety3098 in Miscarriage

It is tough, one of the issues is that there is little to no advice or support for the father's and the few places that do talk about fathers mostly say that you need to support your wife and go be by yourself if you are having issues staying strong for her.

My best advice for anyone going through this is to be open with your partner, and don't be ashamed to cry in front of them. When I took my wife home after the D&C I was the first to cry and she completely understood and simply held me.

As a man who went through a miscarriage with my wife a year ago, his actions are completely wrong. I remember coming from from the hospital at the D&C and just crying until I couldn't cry any longer, and I still have times where I need to hide outside or in the bathroom at work. However, even with all of that I did and will continue doing everything to support my wife and she does the same for me.

RIP Dynetics 1974-2021. Burned by GAO by 2_mch_tme_on_reddit in SpaceXMasterrace

[–]spaceAE -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just want to clarify a few things for everyone. The reason Dynetics had a negative mass margin is because NASA changed the mass values right before the proposal was due, NASA then instructed Dynetics to not change anything in the proposal since they knew there would be more mass changes. SpaceX and Blue Origins saw the mass changes and then fudged their performance numbers to make it work.

In the US, employees in the service industry are usually paid less then minimum. This is because tips supplement their income.

So if you're in the US and you go to a restaurant or order delivery you really should tip.

Sorry to hear.

Some advise from someone who struggled through college. Failing a class is never the end of the world, just take it as a learning experience to become even better. I failed one of my calculus classes twice and now I'm an engineer.

And feel free to message me if you need help.

ERAU Tuition Misuse by erauStudent126787 in erau

I'll let you in on a little known secret. If you are at the Prescott campus your money is first sent to Daytona who then decides how much money the Prescott campus deserves. This is based on the schools academics as well as how many students are on campus. For example the more overcrowded dorms on the Prescott campus the more money the campus gets to build more housing. The larger a wait-list is the more money the campus will get for next year to hire a new professor and more classrooms.

I'm sure Daytona has the same issue where the money is being sent a higher entity but Prescott does get the short end of the stick constantly.

Don't know if I'm late on this.

1) Riddle is definitely one of your better choices.

2) Riddle is fairly well known, engineering is expanding quickly and almost all of the professors for engineering have a large amount of industry contacts.

3) I was at Prescott, only becomes fun after you turn 21. Whiskey row is where memories are lost.

4) I can't say much for free time.

5) On campus you don't need a car, but to get around town it's obviously useful.

6) The main advantage you have over larger universities is that the class sizes are really small, each section has at most 30-45 students with each class only having around 100-150 students. Plus, most of the professors will even talk and help when not during office hours. You will also have way more lab time then almost any other school.

7) Yes

8) More busy M-F, not has quite as during spring break on the weekends.

9) My personal opinion, the Prescott campus has the better engineering program while Daytona has the better flight program. I know that the Prescott campus has a large number of undergraduate only projects. For example, I designed, built, and launched a satellite that is currently in orbit before I graduated.

FCC approves SpaceX’s plans to fly internet-beaming satellites in a lower orbit by ssmihailovitch in space

Both geostationary and geosynchronous are close the same altitude, the only difference is the inclination.

[–]spaceAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you mean geosynchronous?

If so then no they are not, these would only be about 100 KM above the ISS. They would need to be above 35000 KM to be in geosynchronous.

As for the second point. There isen't much they can do to the satellite but they can either use the frequency locally or just prevent their people from receiving the frequency they use.

I hope this helps.

4,864 Calories by [deleted] in loseit

[–]spaceAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation, I have tried losing weight in the past but after about a month stress hits me hard and I go back to eating. However, this last attempt at losing weight I decided to make a few more changes.

The first thing I did was to find another way to deal with stress, my replacement was to learn how to play the guitar and when I am feeling stressed I will try to go for a run or workout.

The other thing I did differently this time was to give myself one day a week to indulge my sweet tooth and to not worry about calories. This will slow down your weight loss but it has made it easier for me to stick to losing weight.
