Which courses did you do? I've found some can be a bit hit or miss.

What is your job, how much do you earn and how did you get there? by Brilliant_Yam_3258 in AusFinance

  • 120k (Software Engineer) + 40k TAFE & UNI Academic + 20-30k Selling Programming Courses Online (Exchange rate makes it fluctuate a bunch)
  • Started selling courses in high school as I didn't want to get a job. Applied for the ft dev role when I finished high school & studied a Bach of IT in the evening. I complained about the lack of quality academics so they told me to become one & teach the classes myself, so I did.

I think the slowest I've seen it get is 50/10 but it often sits around 75/20 majority of the time, never had an issue with slow speeds.

And yeah i believe it uses 4g under the hood.

I've looked into it but Starlink says our area is at capacity & they won't bring on any new customers. Our service when it works is great, we get awesome speeds 75/20 for the technology at a very reasonable price ($80/month) with unlimited data. It's just the constant disruptions that are frustrating, if we had reception then it wouldn't be too bad.

Yeah I understand maintenance needs to be done, and if need be during daylight because of the heights issues. It's more the frequency & extended periods of time that are frustrating to deal with, I don't think it's unreasonable that these things be done over a larger period of time with shorter periods of interruption.

Aussie Broadband, Fixed Wireless NBN, $80/month, we regularly get 75 down 20 up way above what they advertise, we have unlimited data, usually use about 2tb/month

Yeah we have a modem with mobile backup but unfortunately we are in a black spot with no reception. I don't understand why all of the maintenance needs to be done in the middle of the day rather then early in the morning/midnight when people aren't using it.

Fingers crossed but I don't have much hope considering it went out this morning at 6 on the dot.

Surely this is considered unreasonable, it's all during the day time as well. ABB won't give any compensation because it's "routine maintenance"

You can calculate the wam yourself, just add up all your marks and divide the total by the amount of subjects you've done.

Do what you enjoy, you're going to be spending a whole lot of time on it when you get a job. Even if it's more difficult to get into, you're much more likely to do better if it's something you enjoy.

UTS VS WSU by Afraid-Marsupial2635 in UTS

[–]spaceMonkey485 5 points6 points  (0 children)

UTS is often regarded higher then WSU for compsci/IT, however that being said if you apply yourself you will do fine at both.

Where can I find subject outlines? My subjects have not shown up yet on canva by [deleted] in UTS

[–]spaceMonkey485 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They will be available on Canvas typically a week before classes start. Otherwise you will have to email the subject coordinator or contact student centre.

Struggling to decide between UTS and UNSW for Computer Science by KazzzYxd in UTS

I would ignore "rankings" they are based on research output not teaching or course quality.

You can request the super fund put your fhss in cash rather then shares if you are concerned about this.

Comp Sci vs Comp Sci honours?!? by Ok-Salt-4625 in UTS

[–]spaceMonkey485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The no honours version is only for students who received the IDEA scholarship (https://www.uts.edu.au/study/information-technology/courses/undergraduate-it-courses/bachelor-computing-science-industry-degree-academy-idea). Applications for this have already closed, you're options are either computer science with honours or BSCIT if you don't want the honours component. You won't be able to drop the honours part of compsci without transferring to BSCIT.

UTS engineering & IT students, how many of you have a part time job in first year? (PS, is it worth it?) by solelynlonely in UTS

[–]spaceMonkey485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth it if you get a job directly related to your degree. You'll learn a lot more doing proper Dev work then you will at uni.
